Chapter 7, The Debut Pt. 4

Y/N Pov

"Acho!" Y/N and her copy sneezed, "Oh, I wonder if someone is talking about me.." Y/N wondered as she held her shadow copy like Doll used to.

Adult Pov

The figures on the table moved around, showing the candidates of the debut. It showed Emilico and Rum as the adults watched the wooden figures. Behind a wall-like structure was a man who wore binoculars, looking at the maze.

Ryan then spoke, "Gerald! These two have stopped moving altogether." The two figures of 'Sunshine' and 'Good-for-nothing' stopped, "They're the ones who will fail. Never take your eyes off them." He continued.

"Of course, Forgive me." Gerald said, turning back to the window, he dared not say that he got distracted at the sight of Y/N, who was walking to who knows where.

The two wooden figures moved again, as Dorothy says "I know! Perhaps we should send Edward a message." She said his name with venom and distrust, after hearing what Sophie said.

"Aileen?" Dorothy spoke, who then said "Yes, right away." she blew into her hands to create a shadow bird. She went next to Gerald and opened the window, letting the shadow bird to fly out. It swirled around the giant hourglass and landed on the ground next to Edward.

The bird then screeched a horrible sound as Edward was forced to cover his ears. It then blew up and it created words on the ground for him to read.

Edward growls, "Must they send these inane messages? And can't those blasted soot pigeons scream a little less upon delivery?" His face was scrunched up and glared at the words.

Back with the adults, Shauns figure moved as Dorothy gasped, "Come and look at this! Shaun is going down now!" She was now looking out of the window with binoculars, "What?!" Ryan exclaimed. He ran to the window and looked at shaun.

Shaun was walking when suddenly the floor gave out and he fell through, he groaned in pain and looked up at where he fell.

"Oh, It was just a pit trap." Ryan said with a disappointed tone, Dorothy laughed and said, "That little fool!"

Behind them, Sophie spoke, "So, Neglecting to show elevation on the map was by design, then?" Joseph hummed, "It seems Lou will arrive first, as expected."

Ryan then said, "Perhaps not. Don't be hasty."

The figures of Lou and Ricky moved on the board, "It's about to get interesting."

Lou and Ricky Pov

Lou is clipping at the branches, however she reaches a cliff and falls. Ricky, seeing this, gasps and rushes towards the cliff. He bends down, lifts up his goggles and yells, "Lou!" Seeing how high it is, he says "That's Intense."

He then glances at her shears, he then grabs them and stands back up. 'Does this mean Lou's out of the picture?' He mentally questions, Just then, a hand comes up and before Ricky moves, Lou comes up and tackles him to the ground. She tears off his hat as Ricky hits the floor, Lou on top of him.

"Lou! Wait!" He yells, "I swear I wasn't trying to steal your Shears! I'm... really glad to see that you're alright."

...

~Y/N Pov~

"Hmm, shall we visit Patrick?" Y/N asked, Doll nodded. The two walked around (More like Doll did the walking because she was carrying the copy to make it more realistic), soon, they came across the blue dressed male.

"John?" Y/N asked, John immediately turned and saw the two. "Oh! Y/N!" John Exclaimed, jogging up to the two. Doll put Y/N down and began to perform her job as a 'face', "Hello John, did shaun not get you out?" John tilted his head, "Was he supposed to?"

The bluntness made Y/N cover her mouth and turn her face away, laughing softly. Doll showing her smile while following her movements (Which was easier than not), John could feel warmth entering his cheeks.

"John didn't know!" John yelled out, though he was happy he was able to make Y/N laugh. A small silence spread as John watched the (F/C) dressed girl laugh.

"I decided," John said, causing Y/N to turn back to him, "Decided wha-" "Marry me!"

A silence entered the area, Y/N couldn't believe what she was hearing. As an adult, the marriage proposals never end, but the 3rd floor residents normally 'took care of it' for her (Especially Lord Grandfather).

But his bluntness... "Pfft!" Y/N covered her mouth to stop the laughter, Doll doing the same. John just stood there, watching her laugh.

"Hahaha! Y-Y/N's so s-sorry, HAhahaha!" Y/N continued to laugh, John became extremely flustered with her laughing. Y/N had to lean against Doll for support, After a while of trying to calm down, Y/N finally stopped laughing.

"Phew, Okay," Y/N turned back at the blue dressed male, "May Y/N ask why John desires to marry me?"

"Simple, John has taken a liking to you. And think about it, He shall be king of the shadow house! You would never regret your choice!" John walked closer to Y/N and held her hands in his.

"King of the Shadow House?" Y/N and Doll tilted their heads, "Yes! We'll be a match made in heaven!" John went closer to her face, Only inches away from her own.

With the adults

Soot. Was. Everywhere.

Ryan, Dorothy, Sophie, and Joseph were releasing soot like their lives were on the line, Gerald and Aileen (Also releasing soot) had to open a window.

Ryan broke his binoculars in his hand,

"HOW DARE HE TOUCH Y/N!!!" Ryan was far from happy, He knew that 'Look' he, no, They all knew what that John was trying to do.

"HOW DARE HE LOOK AT Y/N!!!" Ryan slammed his fist against the wall as he continued to look out of the window. The others too angry to say anything or even calm him down.

"HOW DARE HE GO NEAR Y/N!!!" Ryan immediately turned to the direction where the 2 lower shadows were.

"Aileen! Send a message to Edward! NOW!" Aileen didn't need to be told as she sent a soot bird to Edward, Explaining what that boy, John, was attempting to do.

Back with Y/N and John

"Acho!" Y/N sneezed, "Oh, that's twice now, I must be a popular topic." Y/N muttered, before she turned her head back to John and said, "Anyway, as I was saying. Y/N is sorry, but she has no desire to marry you." Y/N bowed her head to the boy.

"No worries-" Y/N sighed a sigh of relief, "John just has to make Y/N fall for him!" That sigh of relief turned to one of slight annoyance but also respect for the boy.

She sighed, "John, Y/N believe it's best for you to return to your spot, Shaun should get there anytime now."

"Ah, yes. See you soon~" John took Y/N's hand in his own and placed a kiss on top of it.

He then turned and walked away, waving at her as he disappeared from view. Y/N then looked around and found a window, soot heavily coming out of it... "Oh no." Y/N said out loud, knowing the other adults were not happy at all.

She then sighed and began to walk, Doll following her.

How annoying... But very amusing.
