"i missed you too, babe," i chuckled, pulling leah into a tight hug. my best friend had come to visit me in london, and seeing her always felt like a breath of fresh air. we first met at a party back in 2019, and we've been inseparable ever since.
"hi, miguel," i said with a polite smile, shaking his hand.
"hey, justice," he replied, his tone casual, almost indifferent.
i've always liked miguel for leah. he seemed like a nice guy, at least based on what i saw of him on love island.
"come in, come in," i said warmly, ushering leah inside with miguel trailing behind her.
"is miracle here?" leah asked as she made herself comfortable on the plush sofa in my living room.
"no, she had to take chanel to the vet," i explained. chanel is my british shorthair cat—my baby, really.
"oh no, what happened?" leah's brows furrowed with concern.
"she's been throwing up and hasn't been her usual playful self. i'm worried about her," i admitted, feeling a pang of anxiety just talking about it.
