"The guest room is down the hall and to the right honey. I'll run you a bath." Nessa's aunt said while helping her bring her bag to the bedroom.
After Nessa had unpacked she took a quick bath to relieve some of the pain she was having but her aunt thought it would be best to have her seen by a doctor.
"And he pushed you into the corner?" The doctor said while pressing the ultrasound wand against Nessa's stomach.
Nessa silently nodded, not really able to form words at this moment.
"There's a faint heartbeat but, I'm not sure if it'll make it though the night though. I can prescribe you some pain medication until you pass the remains." The lady spoke and Nessa's aunt placed her hand in her shoulder as tears pooled up in her eyes.
"Everything happens for a reason Janessa. I think it was a sign." She soft heartedly spoke.
Nessa nodded in agreement, pulling the gown over her stomach and sitting up.

Once they arrived at home Nessa had fallen sleep, finally not having any more pain.
But for the next few weeks she was searching for jobs and got hired as a waitress at a fancy restaurant.
In her first night she had met a wonderful woman not much older than herself.
Her name was Amari and she's a business woman.
She tipped Nessa generously which meant Nessa could help pay her medical bill.
"Janesa honey, I told you I got it covered. Save your money baby." Her aunt said while stroking her hair.
"Aunt Edith, I want to help. You're kind enough to let me live under your roof. It's the least I can do."
"Janesa. No. End of discussion. Go relax, I'll call you down for dinner."
A few days later Nessa was clocking out of work and she heard a familiar voice from behind her.
"Hey, you forgot your phone over by my table." Amari smiled while tapping the girl on her shoulder, causing her to jump.
"Oh! Thank you." Nessa gave a kind smile and grabbed the phone, then the left and headed home.
Once she arrived at home she removed her shoes at the door and went straight to her room.
"Butter? Butter?" Nessa called out in search of her small cat.
"Butter where are you?" She opened her bedroom door hoping to see her cat but she didn't.
"Aunt Edith? Have you seen butter?"
"Yeah honey. I fed him and he's probably hiding behind the television." The woman spoke kindly.
Nessa let out a relieved sigh and went back to her room to scroll on social media for a while until she realized she had a message from a number.

Amari🐸

Hey. It's Amari, you left your phone by my table and it was unlocked so I left my number:)

Thank you for returning my phone Amari.

What's his name?

Butter

Hahaha omg that is adorable.
Hey I was wondering if you'd like to hang out sometime, maybe my place tomorrow?

Yeah that sounds like fun, see you then?

Yeah.
Send me your @ in the morning and we'll make the plans.

Nessa smiled to herself before she shut her phone off and very quickly fell asleep.
