The sound of sirens and screams filled the air as the city erupted into chaos in the aftermath of the atomic blast. People ran in all directions, trying to find shelter and safety. Sanya, now captured and held captive by Roxy, sat in a dark cell, his mind racing with thoughts of failure and guilt. The door to his cell suddenly creaked, opening slowly as he saw his own leader standing there.
"I hope you understand why I put you here," Roxy said, leaning against the doorframe. "I can't trust anyone."
Sanya narrowed his eyes, the only thing stopping him from cursing her out being the gag in his mouth. Instead, he fought against the restraints against his arms, barely being able to show the middle finger to her. Roxy smiled, before walking out the door again.
As Sanya sat in his solitary confinement, he couldn't help but be haunted by the sounds of the city's inhabitants screams. Each cry echoed through the cold, damp walls of his cell, reminding him of the destruction that he was powerless to stop. He closed his eyes, desperately trying to block out the sounds, but they only seemed to grow louder in his mind. The alarms got louder, the warnings from the radio stations starting to burn through his brain, terrorizing him at every turn he made. With hazy vision, he raised his leg and kicked back on the chair, breaking it as he landed on the ground. He used the sharp wooden structure to cut through his ropes, giving him a nasty cut in the process. As the blood streamed down his arm, he stood up and removed the gag from his mouth, still listening to the screams.
He had to do something.Roxy's POV:
Roxy walked down the hallway, her footsteps echoing off the cold, sterile walls. She glanced over at Ugly who was walking alongside her. He moved with a steady rhythm, not daring to go off-beat or even look anywhere else. A smile tugged at her lips, giving him yet another command.
"Go ask the engineers for an update. And send the Soviet Union a deal to partner, or we'll release another bomb."
He immediately stopped, turning around in a eerie manner. He walked with the same rhythm again, walking in a specific direction with no mistake as if he had a GPS destination set in his mind. Roxy kept walking, before she felt a worm crawl up her leg. She quickly shook it off, before realising it was a hammerhead worm. With a quick look around, she set her eyes on a shadowy figure walking away.
Is that who she thinks it is?
