CHAPTER 36

As Evelyn made her way to Mr. Benedict Proso's studio, she found herself unable to shake off the memory of the stern and somewhat disapproving glance that Mr. Hiro had directed at her. This had been just moments earlier when she had gracefully descended the staircase, her hand firmly clasped in that of the ever-charming Sebastian, who was guiding her down with a sense of care and attentiveness.

'What could possibly be the reason for his gaze? Does he genuinely think there is something more than friendship between Sebastian and me?'

The very notion that the distinguished art collector might harbor feelings of jealousy regarding her relationship with Sebastian struck Evelyn as both amusing and oddly flattering. The thought brought a smile to her lips. However, she couldn't help but find the situation somewhat ironic. Here was a man who seemed to flirt with women effortlessly, whether intentionally or simply due to his naturally charming demeanor. She had often felt a pang of jealousy upon witnessing the admiring glances and warm smiles he received from other women, and she had noted how he tended to be particularly attentive and courteous toward them. Yet, despite her own feelings, she had never allowed herself to react in the same manner as he had when he shot that glance her way on the stairs.

What if Mr. Hiro were to demand that she distance herself from Sebastian? After all, Sebastian was the only person who had consistently shown her kindness and support since her very first day. Evelyn found it hard to imagine taking such a command seriously if it were ever to be issued.

...

A few moments later, she and her fellow trainees arrived at the highly regarded art studio of Benedict Proso. Following the lead of Mr. Proso and his assistant, they were graciously invited into what could only be described as his artistic sanctuary.

"Dear artists," Benedict began, turning to face them with a warm and welcoming smile. "Welcome to my world—a place where the magic of Proso unfolds and where ordinary clay is transformed into life in the most exquisite and beautiful way imaginable."

The aspiring artists erupted in cheers at his enthusiastic words, and Benedict proceeded to guide them through his studio, showcasing several pieces that had yet to be unveiled to the public. It was indeed a rare honor for each of them to have the opportunity to witness these extraordinary works in person.

Following this initial tour, he led them to the pottery room situated at the back of the studio, which was filled with the alluring scent of wet clay.

"Today, we will embark on a journey into the world of pottery. How many of you have prior experience with this craft?" He inquired, and only Sebastian, Paris, and Emily raised their hands.

"I see," Benedict remarked, chuckling lightly. "Well, for those of you without experience, you will be paired with those who have had the privilege of working with pottery before. Is that understood?"

"Yes, sir," they all replied in unison, their voices mingling in the air.

"Fantastic. Now, let's roll up our sleeves and get to work!"

Naturally, Evelyn instinctively turned toward Sebastian for assistance, and she caught him looking back at her, a playful smile dancing on his lips.

"Shall we begin, Eve?" he asked, his tone light and encouraging.

"Of course," she responded, a sense of excitement coursing through her.

They were each provided with protective smocks to safeguard their clothing from the inevitable mess that came with working with clay. Then, they took their seats in pairs, with Emily sitting alone, perhaps feeling a bit isolated.
