Angel Dust and Husk shuffled into the mostly empty aquarium, Angel immediately running to one of the big glass tanks, filled with Angelfish.
Husk followed slowly behind, stuffing his paws into the pockets of his pants, as he folded his wings neatly behind his back. He joined Angel in front of the tank.
"Angelfish are my favorite fish. Them, and Blobfish." Angel said as he smiled, looking up at the tank filled with artificial sunlight.
"They're pretty." Husk replied with a small nod, now noticing that he and Angel were standing much closer now.
"Oh!" Angel exclaimed, turning towards Husk. "I almost forgot, they have sharks here too! Lemon sharks." He excitedly held out his hand towards Husk.
Husk smiled slightly and took his hand. "Lemon sharks?"
Angel led the Husk towards a tank down a short hallway. "They're called Lemon sharks 'cause of the yellow pigmentation in their skin. They're like the puppies of the sea! Sometimes, the staff here will swim down to visit 'em, and give 'em belly rubs!"
As Angel yapped about the sharks, Husk looked at his growing smile. He liked seeing Angel genuinely happy. Not fake happy, putting on a show. But happy because he's choosing to be. All too often, Angel would arrive late at the hotel, in shambles. Because of his occupation, there were a lot of bad days.
The Lemon Sharks swam around in figure 8's about their tank. They occasionally slowed down as they drifted across the wall of glass, slow enough for Husk and Angel to see their lemon tinted skin, before darting back upwards, towards the surface of their enclosure.
Husk rested his weight on his left hip, as he glanced towards the taller man. "You really like this place, huh?"
And just like that, Angel's excitement rose again, as if it was the first time anyone had asked him such a question. "I LOVE this place! Animals don't judge me, because they don't know me. To 'em, I'm just another person comin' to stare at 'em all day, while they just live their life. I wouldn't have it any other way."
Husk nodded, his left ear flicking in curiosity. "It must be hard, y'know? Being you. You don't get to walk around, in peace."
Angel sighed quietly, touching the glass as he looked back at the sharks. "It sucks, y'know? Everybody always wants somethin' from me. They demand it. And I've gotten to the point where I can't even say no. I don't get a choice."
Husk looked down in thought, before placing his paw-like hands on Angel's shoulder. "Well, for what it's worth?" He smiled. "I don't need nothing from you except a friend."
