Chapter 4: Behind the Mask

With her channel's popularity soaring, Y/N shared the exciting news with her mom. They were in the hospital room, a space that had become their second home over the past few months. Y/N sat beside her mom's bed, her eyes alight with enthusiasm.

"Mom, I have some incredible news," Y/N said, trying to contain her excitement. "The collaboration video with Sakura and Eunchae has taken off! My subscriber count is through the roof, and people are loving it."

Her mom's face lit up with genuine joy. "That's wonderful, Y/N! I've always believed in you. I'd really love to meet those wonderful girls who've been so supportive and helped you get this far."

Y/N chuckled. "I'm sure they'd love to meet you too, Mom. Your support has meant everything to me."

As the excitement settled, Y/N's expression turned more serious. She glanced at her hands, fidgeting with the hem of her jacket.

"Actually, Mom, I've been thinking about something," Y/N said hesitantly. "With how well the channel's doing, I've been considering quitting my job to focus on it full-time."

Her mom tilted her head slightly, concern flashing across her face for a moment before it softened with understanding. "That sounds like a big decision, Y/N. But why do you seem so uncertain?"

Y/N sighed, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "It's just... what if it doesn't last? I mean, YouTube is so unpredictable. One minute, everything's going great, and the next, it could all fade away. I'm scared to make a mistake."

Her mom smiled warmly, reaching out to squeeze Y/N's hand. "Honey, no one knows what the future holds. But what I do know is that you've poured your heart into this channel, and it's paying off. You have a community and people who love what you do. If you're passionate about it, why not give it a shot?"

Y/N looked up, her eyes wide. "You really think I should? What if I can't make enough to support us? If it fails, I won't be able to pay for the treatments."

Her mom's eyes softened even more. "Y/N, you've already done so much. You've been juggling everything — your job, the channel, and visiting me. But I want you to chase your dreams. Don't hold yourself back because of fear. We'll figure things out together, like we always do."

Y/N felt a lump rise in her throat, her mom's words offering a wave of comfort she didn't realize she needed. "Thank you, Mom. I'm just scared, but you always know what to say."

Her mom gave her a pinch on the cheek. "Well, that's what moms are for. Go chase your dreams, baby. I'll be cheering you on every step of the way."

With her mom's support in mind, Y/N decided to invest in upgrading her equipment. The new camera and top-of-the-line kitchen appliances were a significant improvement. With her upgraded setup, Y/N felt excited to produce even better content for her viewers.

While Y/N's livestream countdown was ticking down and the amount of peoples anticipation was gaining momentum, at the LE SSERAFIM dorm, Chaewon, Yunjin, and Kazuha gathered to watch the latest video from the Fearless Kura channel. The video featured Y/N preparing a meal with Sakura and Eunchae.

"This looks like it's going to be a great watch," Chaewon said, settling onto the couch with Yunjin and Kazuha.

As the video began, the room filled with Y/N's calming voice and the cheerful interaction between the three of them.

"I don't know how she did it, but she made Fearless Kkura less chaotic " Yunjin remarked, visibly relaxed as she watched. "I can understand why PeachTea has such a devoted fanbase."

Kazuha nodded. "Her personality is really animated. It's clear why people are drawn to her."

Chaewon, however, found herself caught up in a sense of déjà vu. As she listened to Y/N's voice and observed her interactions on screen, she felt an unsettling familiarity.
