I was standing on the edge of a vast, stormy ocean, the waves crashing violently against the shore. The sky was dark and ominous, a reflection of the turmoil in my heart. I saw Adam in the distance, struggling and flailing in the water. He was sinking deeper, and I felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness as he got further away. I reached out, my voice breaking as I screamed for him, but the sound was swallowed by the roaring waves. No matter how hard I tried, my cries didn’t reach him. The water closed over his head, and he disappeared beneath the surface. My heart shattered as I watched him drown, unable to save him.

I jolted awake, gasping for breath. Tears streamed down my cheeks, and I clutched the sheets tightly, trying to steady myself. The vividness of the dream left me shaken, and I could still feel the fear and panic gripping my heart. I sat up in bed, my body trembling. I had to shake off the unsettling feeling and start my day.

With shaky legs, I made my way to the bathroom. The cool splash of water against my face helped me to ground myself. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, taking deep breaths to calm my racing heart. After a few moments, I felt slightly more composed and decided to get ready for the day.

Descending the stairs, I heard the familiar sounds of my parents in the kitchen. My dad was cooking breakfast while my mom sat on the kitchen counter, watching him with a smile. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, a comforting reminder of home.

“Good morning, Papa! Morning, Mama!” I greeted, forcing a cheerful smile as I entered the kitchen.

My dad looked up from the stove with a warm smile. “Good morning, Mi angel. How did you sleep?”

“Not the best,” I admitted, trying to sound casual. “Just a bad dream.”

My mom hopped down from the counter and came over to give me a hug. “Oh, sweetheart, I’m sorry to hear that. You look like you could use some comfort.”

“I’m okay, Mama,” I reassured her, though the remnants of the dream still lingered in my mind. “What’s for breakfast?”

My dad handed me a plate of scrambled eggs and toast. “Just your usual favorites. Hope it helps to brighten your day.”

As I sat down at the table, my mom joined me, and we began chatting. “I’ve been reading this new romance novel,” she said excitedly. “It’s about a star-crossed love set in the 1920s. You should read it. I think you’d love it.”

“That sounds amazing!” I said, taking a bite of my breakfast. “I’ve been meaning to dive into a new book myself. Maybe I’ll check it out.”

My dad gave us a teasing grin. “You two and your love stories. Remember when you tried to write your own romance novel, Ayzal? How’s that coming along?”

I laughed, shaking my head. “I’ve been so busy with my fashion design projects that I haven’t had much time for writing. But I’m definitely planning to get back to it soon.”
