Some women are more moth than butterfly
unveiling their painted wings in the moonlight
where only someone who isn't afraid
to enter the darkness is worthy to adore them.

Chapter 2 ~ The dreamer and her dragon

Visenya... Visenya, Visenya, Visenya. The prettiest girl in westeros, his Visenya. She was his... after all, the princess had shown him her great secret. Would the dragonscales be beautiful on anyone else? No. To Aegon, Visenya was the only one who could still have pure beauty with the deformity she called ugly.

Alas Aegon Targaryan was a self-absorbed boy, his obsession with the princess making him think she was lucky to even be noticed by him. Of course, he was soft with her. He adored her. She was in his words 'As beautiful as the moon, sometimes feeling unimportant but needed in the earth and suns life,' He was the sun obviously, she was his moon needing her in his life to fully function properly just as the sun needed the moon.

The many freinds he kept close would shun him for having such company, as she was 'a quiet beast who will become a stupid whore like her mother when she would grow into a woman, a whore who would sire bastards' they would all say in various different ways.

Despite his care for her, he could not ruin his popularity at court, afterall he was the Kings firstborn son. His insides would burn with pure anger anytime one of the people he held close would call his Visenya a whore. Although he did agree with his sister being a whore, Visenya was his. She could be his future wife for he knew, especially with the way he had been begging his mother to betrothe them for years.

He had almost wretched when Alicent mentioned betrotheing him to Haelena, she was his idiot little sister nothing more nothing less. Thats right an idiot, he only tolerated being around her due to Visenya being her only freind. Too obsessed with bugs, stupid visions and Visenya to care much about anything else.

He remebered the words she had said on the night of Visenyas seventh name day 'Black and green weave together, of both threads. The earth.' He never wanted to listen to her, but this prophecy caught his attention. The earth? Of both threads? It had plauged Aegons mind scince the celebrations, what could it mean? his eleven year old mind turned like cogs in his brain as he thought and thought of what his sister said for the very first time.

------

Why she had let him see she would never know. She was absolutely stupid for it and she knew it. She couldnt help but feel a nervouseness eating away at her, he called what she thought to be the ugliest thing in the world beautiful. Was she really beautiful as he said? She had thought herslef to be a monser when even her brothers would turn away petrified of her. She had been so scared to show anyone else... would he be able to love the unlovable?

Even her brothers, the children who had come from the same womb as her, shyed away... yet he didn't? He kissed the thing she thought could bring the small walls of soliderity she had built for herself if anyone were to find out.

Sh was an idiot, if he were to tell a single soul she would be ruined. No hope of a betrothal, no hope of ever being accepted as the lady of the tides, no hope of ever sitting the driftwood throne. Besides she already had little claim over Vaemond who had already shunned her grandfather Corlys for keeping her as his heir. How could she, a seven year old deformed bastard ever compete with a true born Valeryon?

The only person who she could trust was Haelena, and not even she had seen the scales which contsntly plagued her mind like a illnes which would not come to pass. Hel was her friend, her sister, her only allie in this cruel world, which was full of controlling men who would break the stilts that kept her at their table safely afloat. They would break her just as easy as they could snap a flower stem.
