2nd September 1971
There first lesson on the timetable was charms, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter walked down together. James spotted Lily Evans walking with hot he other 4 Gryffindor girls and gazed at her, and to his surprise Sirius shouted down to here, "Oi! Evans!" she turned around slightly scared "James fancies you!" He, Remus and Peter burst and into laughter.
James, bright red in the face shoved him, "Shut up Black!" in a strong annoyance tone.When he got into the class, he sat I between Peter and a Ravenclaw. "Welcome class!" said an extremely small teacher, "welcome to Hogwarts, as your first lesson, I ask you to only have your wands out." James pulled out an 11 inch, mahogany, Phoenix feather wand. "Right, now our first spell will be Wengardium Leviosa! The spell that makes objects float, just slay the same, swish and flick wish the wand and it's done, good luck!" he smiled.
James turned to the Ravenclaw, "Uh, did you have any idea what he was saying, I wasn't listening."
The Ravenclaw looked at him, "And you think, just because I a Ravenclaw, that I know everything?! Well guess what..." he's picked up his wand and a smile grew across his face, "you're right!" James and the boy burst into laughter, "My name is Zac Thabet, and you?"
"James Potter" he replied grinning, "you crack me up", Zac looked at him, "oh please, I crack myself up" he replied.The rest of the lesson James sat there laughing at Zac and watching all the Ravenclaws doing the spells perfectly whilst the Gryffindor's failed.
When all classes had ended James, Sirius (who had apologised to James), Remus and Peter were walking up the stairs when a Hufflepuff boy, looking terrified ran down the stairs, over to Zac, who started to look nervous and the walked of down the stairs, James noticed the boys arm was bleeding. He noticed Lupin was looking to,
"he said something about the Astronomy Tower.
