Sakshi Sinha, nineteen years old studying and training to become an agent, she was nothing but an orphan after her grandparents left her.

She lived in the beautiful and posh town of Dehradun, a cantonment area  since her childhood. But her life changed when her parents got divorced.

Her father shifted to Patiala in Punjab and her mother shifted to Somnath in Gujarat. They remarried again and had their families only paying for Sakshi's expense and taking care of her education but not giving her any time and emotional support.

Her father got married to a widow from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, who had lost her whole family in a bus accident and had only her kids from her first marriage. They got all love and attention because their mother stood with them and Sakshi admired it. She tried to get the same love but all she received was hate and taunts so she stopped. What hurt her the most was her father's ignorance on this.

He was ready to give love to the children of his second wife but he forgot his own daughter.

And her mother got married to a single father from Nagpur, Maharashtra, who lost his girlfriend in an encounter for she was a police officer and left their kids with him. He also took care of his kids a lot and gave them all the love needed so Sakshi tried to get attention and support from him but she got the same, disgust and distaste as if she was a dirt in their lives. She had liked him as well for being such a good father but she couldn't understand what was her fault. Even her own mother just like her father forgot her existence and got busy in her life.

In this while, little Sakshi who felt the void in her heart felt solace in the arms of both her grandparents.

Her maternal grandparents lived in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and whenever it was the time for her mother to have her, she would instead go to Bhopal because obviously her new family didn't like her presence but her grandparents loved her a lot.

And the same way, whenever it was time for her father to take her, she would instead go to Jaipur, Rajasthan where her paternal grandparents lived. Because there also, the new family didn't like her and her grandparents loved her a lot.

However, with the passing years, her grandparents died due to old age and illnesses. The best thing was, both sets of her grandparents died together because she couldn't imagine the pain of losing your partner and she didn't want her beloved grandparents to go through it.

They gave their properties equally to their children and named the property share of her parents in name of her and that's why her issues with her parents rose because her parents were pressurised by their new partners to get the properties in the names of their own kids but Sakshi fought bravely for it.

She refused to take any expense further for her University education and instead started working in several jobs side by side and took an education loan rather than taking any favours from her selfish parents. She started residing in Bangalore, Karnataka to study.

Her loneliness kept on increasing. A few times, her half siblings from her father's and mother's side came to visit her who shared an enmity between each other for the property.

She didn't like meeting them for various reasons but she couldn't do anything about it so she tried her best to intentionally delay the meeting. She was tired of her this life. She wanted to complete her education soon and become capable to feel stable and safe.

She missed her grandparents a lot. The rest of the relatives from both sides loved her and felt sad for her like her aunts and cousins but they had their own lives and couldn't speak much for her obviously. Even if they did, will her selfish parents pay any heed to how they had tortured and traumatised her?

She didn't expect them to speak either. They called her, talked with her, took her on trips to distract her and supported her, that was enough for her. She didn't need anything else.

Sakshi cried herself to sleep sometimes after getting disturbed calls from her parents who verbally abused her, called her selfish and mistake and what not. For their attitudes, they lost all their relations but they didn't care. Sakshi was a lot hurt and wanted just peace. But it was hard to get.

"I have nothing to do with you, leave me", she pushed Rohan. Rohan was the son of her step mother from her first marriage. He was elder to her by two years.

"Sakshi", he shouted. She looked at him with tears. He was taking her with him to Kochi, Kerela where he lived currently.

She knew it was to control her and take the property somehow. Earlier, her elder half brother from her mother's side, the son of her step father from his first marriage, Shaurya had also told her that soon he would take her to Puducherry where he lived. He was older by two years as well.

"Listen let's not make it hard. You are coming with me", he gritted his teeth.

Sakshi shook her head glaring back at him. "I won't come. Go", she said to him trying to leave but he didn't let her and held her firmly.

"If it's about the property then take it na", she burst out pushing him back again. He was taken aback by it. "I am tired of all of you. I don't want anything. I will call my parents and tell them to take the property of my grandparents. I don't want it. They would have wanted me to do the same instead of bearing tortures daily. So take it. I know anyways, none of you care even if I die", she said.

"Sakshi!" Rohan raised his hand. Sakshi covered her face with trembling hands and stood crying and shivering in fear. She started sobbing loudly. Rohan pulled her in a hug. She kept her face covered as she kept crying.

"Pack your bags. And I don't want any argument from your side because there's nothing you can do about it", he muttered.

Sakshi kept crying helplessly.

_______________________________________

Sakshi was sitting on her bed staring at the book in her hand absentminded.

Rohan went to complete the formalities of her college. She could do nothing about it. She knew she couldn't. Or perhaps, she was simply tired.

She even decided to give the only gifts her grandparents gave her but what could she do? She had lost all hopes and didn't wish to fight now. She thought if she obeyed, maybe then she could get at least some peace and happiness.

It was decided yet again that for her this whole year, she would live with Rohan and occasionally visit Shaurya. And for the next year, she would live with Shaurya and occasionally visit Rohan. She didn't know even after giving the property, why were the hell bent on having her but she didn't want to think any further about it.

About the book she was reading? It was Mahabharat. She got a habit of reading it from the landlord family. They loved her a lot and were the saddest that she was going and they couldn't stop her. The granny there used to make her read the book daily and strictly. She was reading it again and the chapter where the princes return back from Gurukul for Kalapradarshan, that was open.

She didn't realise when her eyes closed, teary and tired and she went in a deep and lifeless slumber.

However, when she opened her eyes, she was not in her bedroom!

Sakshi has the saddest life. :(
