Aiah’s POVMikha’s team is teaching us how to improve our play with the right posture and ways to avoid injuries, and I am waiting for the right timing to approach her and hopefully say sorry to her for being rude for taking her drink that time when we were in the cafeteria. Sana naman makausap ko na siya dahil ilang days ko na siyang iniisip. What I mean is ilang days ko ng inisip kung paano ko siya kakausapin para mag sorry. I just want it to be clear, okay.
We are on a break, and Mikha was about to go to take a seat on one of the benches where her friends are, and I think this is the right time to talk to her. I took a deep breath as I walked toward her.
“Maybe this time makakausap ko na siya.” I thought to myself.
“Hey I-“ I was not able to finish my sentence when some girl approached her, and I think it’s one of the girls na nadaanan namin kanina na pasilip silip sa kanila. Hindi niya yata ako na pansin kaya I acted like nothing happened at pumunta sa mga kaibigan ko na nagpapahinga rin.
“Ano? Mission failed pa rin?” Maloi asked as I took a seat beside her. Umiling ako at kinuha ang water bottle ko para uminom.
“I have an idea.” Sheena said, raising one of her hands while smiling widely. We look at her with curiosity.
“What if ayain natin sila sumama sa atin mag samgyup mamaya. With that, you can have a chance to talk to her.” Sheena said, looking excitedly.
“Sheena and her bright idea to be with Gwen.” Stacey said, chuckling.
“What? It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.” Sheena said with a smug face.
“I don’t think we are that close with them for them to agree to have dinner with us.” I said, having second thought about her idea.
“And I think I can have the chance to talk to her and say sorry naman before the day ends.” I added.
“Really Aiah? You want to try your luck and compete with those girls.” Maloi said, pointing to Mikha and the group of girls asking for her picture and autograph.
“Grabe naman sila ‘di man lang pinagpahinga ‘yong tao.” Stacey said. I agree with what Stacey said because Mikha really looks tired, and I hope our training today will end early so she can have her rest. It’s okay naman to support and appreciate someone, but I hope they establish limitations, because ilang minutes na rin silang nag papapicture at humihingi ng autograph ni Mikha. Yes, that is an inevitable thing when you have fame, but at the end she is still human.
As our training ended, nag siuwian na rin ang iba naming mga kasama, and me and my friends are also preparing to leave. I saw Mikha checking the volleyball equipment by herself, kaya naman naglakad ako papunta sa direksyon kung saan siya.
“Come on, Aiah. This is your chance, na,” I whispered to myself as I looked at Mikha, quietly checking the list that she is holding.
I don’t know why, but it seems like there is a lump in my throat keeping me from uttering any word. Bakit ba kasi ako kinakabahan, I’m just going to say sorry lang naman not to confess something. My conversation with myself was interrupted when Mikha suddenly spoke.
“Is there something you want to say to me?” She said, still looking at her checklist.
“N-no. Y-eah I-I.” Putol-putol na sabi ko. Bakit ba kasi ako kinakabahan si Mikha lang naman yan.
“You clearly have something to tell me because it is your sixth time trying to talk to me.” she said, but this time she is facing me and looking directly into my eyes. So alam niya pala na I was trying to talk to her, and all of those attempts were failed.
