As comfortable as the bench was and even though she very much likes reading during her free time, spending time with her two best friends, was sometimes better. Ahra was aware that her head was always in her school books and homework, all because she promised herself she will work hard to have a good life.

"I need a new date and quick.." Moka, a pretty doll-like girl, says in a very dramatic way. Ahra forces a smile that she is pretty sure looked very awkward.

She could hear her friends talking about boys 'cause she's always a great ear for them but that's not really her favorite subject.

"You date someone new every two weeks, aren't you tired?" Koko adds with a chuckle.

"But I never fall in love, they're all so boring." she explains, keeping the drama in her tone as if she was sick. There was a reason for Moka to be in the theater club afterall.

"Because you always low your standards for guys, just date someone like Ni-ki or Sunghoon." Ahra mutters, sipping her strawberry juice. She very rarely gave advice on love, so when she did, both Moka and Koko listened attentively, as if she were the only one on earth at the time.

"Since when do you think Park Sunghoon is a good guy for me, didn't you reject him last year ?" Moka frowned an eyebrow.

In fact, Park Sunghoon, one of the most popular boy of delicis academy highschool got rejected by Ahra, which was very embarrassing but also something totally new for him. There was many reasons why she rejected all those boys — First, they are known to broke girls' hearts. Second, she prefers to focus on school rather than giving up her time unnecessarily to someone else. And third, if they confess it's simply because she's pretty, none of them really took the time to get to know her before confessing — even if she doesn't really give them a chance to get to know her.

"He isn't the first one." She just replies, unbored.

"Yeah, we know." Koko quickly mutters, "Anyways, what do you think about the new guy in our class?"

"Jake Sim seems like a play boy but he is fine as fuck." Moka rested her chin on her hand, gazing from afar at the person they were talking about.

Ahra just watches her two friends as they both seems so hungry while looking at the popular guys from the school, hoping for you to stay out the fire and wondering when that conversation would finally become just a reminiscence of your day.

There was no shame that she never ever had a boyfriend while her friends had bunch of boys already. It was quite literally her choice to be single until you'd be done with school since having a boyfriend wasn't her priority although she could have any guy she wanted if she really wanted to.

"Okay, I need to leave but we can party soon if you want." She paused, grabbing her things, "Bye Moka-chan, Koko-chan." Ahra gently kissed her two friends' heads before leaving in a rush.

Moka-chan and koko-chan is one of the few way Ahra call them sometimes, since they're both japanese.

Ahra barely gets any sleep these days, always studying late into the night and continuing at the library after school. She's so exhausted that she falls asleep on her books. If anyone sees her like that, she'd probably be mortified. Her face is pressed against her notes, taking what is probably the best nap she's had in days.

"You're drooling on your books." An unfamiliar male voice whispers close to her ear. Ahra shoots up, instantly awake, her back straightening.

She quickly checks her books—they're completely dry. Glancing at her reflection in her phone, her face looks fine too. The boy sitting next to her lies.

"Who says you can sit here?" Ahra finally looks at him. It's the new guy, fresh from Australia.

No matter how attractive or charming he is, she treats him like every other guy—distant and cold.

"The chair doesn't have your name on it," he says, a teasing grin on his face. "I can sit wherever—beside you, across from you, maybe right in front of you?"

"I prefer you far away."

Jake leans in, clearly enjoying the tension. "I watch you sleep for a good twenty minutes. Do you know how pretty you are when you sleep ?"

Ahra crosses her arms and leans back, unimpressed. "Is this the part where I'm supposed to fall for you? A compliment and a smile, and I'm yours?"

Jake chuckles softly, unbothered by her cold tone. "No, I don't expect it to be that easy."

Ahra rolls her eyes, grabbing her pen and flipping through her notes, trying to focus. "you're not the first person to try and charm me, and I won't make an exception when it comes to rejecting you. Now, can you leave me alone? I have things to do."

He doesn't move. Instead, he leans a little closer, his presence persistent. "You always study this hard?"

Without looking up, she responds, "Yes. Some of us actually care about getting good grades."

"I care," Jake says with a grin, "just not about grades."

She pauses, glancing at him briefly. "What do you care about, then?"

He shrugs, casually leaning back in his chair. "Depends. Right now, I care about why you're pushing yourself so hard that you fall asleep in public. You know, you're allowed to take a break."

Ahra huffs, annoyed that he's still talking. "I don't need a break. I need to finish this."

Jake studies her for a moment, the playfulness in his eyes fading. Before he can say anything, Ahra abruptly stands up, grabbing her bag.

"I'm not joking when I tell you to leave me alone," she says, her voice cold and sharp. She meets his gaze, unwavering. "Don't you see that you're bothering me?"

She pushes her chair back with her legs, not waiting for his response. She walks away without a second glance, leaving Jake sitting there, staring after her, feeling unexpectedly unsettled.

He shakes his head, trying to process the sting of her rejection. "Woah... Was I really that annoying for her to leave?"

He tilts his head slightly, thinking out loud. Sunghoon had warned him—told him she was hard to approach, impossible to have.

A smile creeps across his face. "Sunghoon wasn't lying," he mutters. "She really is something else."

Instead of feeling discouraged, Jake finds himself even more intrigued by her. A small smile plays on his lips. There's something about her, the way she holds her ground, that draws him in even more. "Guess it'll take more than just charm with this one," he thinks, feeling the challenge settle deep within him.
