Reimi, a young university student living in the heart of the bustling city, found herself torn between her studies and the ever-present need for financial stability. Sharing a flat with a close friend provided some relief, but the cost of living meant she needed to find additional sources of income.
As she perused various job advertisements, one particular opportunity caught her eye - a position as a babysitter for an upcoming children's event. Intrigued by the prospect of a fun and engaging job, Reimi decided to apply, confident in her ability to look after young minds.
With a mixture of excitement and nervousness, Reimi arrived at the grand mansion where she had secured the babysitting position. Standing outside the imposing entrance, she reached out and rang the bell.
Reimi said, "I'm here to look after your children. Is there anything else I should be aware of?"
"Yes, please take extra precautions around them," the maid replied kindly.
"Of course," Reimi exclaimed. "But why do you say that?"
"Because they're monsters," the housekeeper said as she glanced down at Reimi.
Reimi acknowledged awkwardly. As Reimi entered the house, she noticed a huge ballroom and a large staircase. "Where are the children?" Reimi asked the housekeeper.
The maid replied, "They are upstairs in their chambers. Please don't let them out of your sight.
Reimi acknowledged and entered the ballroom, where she saw four children interacting with each other. The youngest girl was only five years old, while the oldest boy was around ten. They all had white hair and were elegantly dressed. One of the boys had black eyes and another had red eyes.
Reimi said, "Hi. My name is Reimi. What is yours?"
"Damien," he replied to Reimi immediately before continuing to play. When Reimi entered the back garden, she discovered a large pool and a garden that had already been decorated for the children's birthday parties. The children were being looked after by three chaperones.
Reimi smiled and said, "Hello, what are you doing?"
"We're teaching them to swim," one of the servants said, pointing at the children.
"Oh really?" Reimi asked.
That sounds fantastic."It's been a while since we've seen a child so young learning to swim," the servant continued, grinning.
Reimi asked, "Really?"
Reimi surveyed the opulent mansion as the last of the servants finished preparing for the grand celebration. The birthday party was to begin at midday on the dot. She slipped into the servants' quarters and changed out of her uniform, her true intentions hidden from prying eyes. The clock struck twelve. The courtyard was abuzz with activity. Children in elaborate costumes frolicked about, while Reimi stood apart, dressed in her simple yet practical babysitter's outfit.
"Everyone, gather round!" Damien called, his voice ringing through the air. "I want to thank every one of you for joining me on this special day - my birthday!"
At Damien's side, Reimi held the lighter, ready to light the candles that adorned the magnificent cake. As she did so, a chorus of admiration and applause erupted from the crowd.
Amid the children's laughter and playful antics, the youngest child, Nana, tugged at Reimi's sleeve, her voice filled with urgency. "I have to pee, Miss Reimi!" The babysitter nodded kindly and led the little girl to the toilet.Nana emerged moments later, blissfully unaware of Reimi's presence lurking just inches away. With stealthy grace, Reimi crept up behind the unsuspecting child, arms outstretched, and in one swift motion, swallowed Nana whole.
