POV - SOLAR

"S..lr.."

Huh..?

"So..r..?"

Mhnn.. wha..?

"Solar!"

I jolt awake and let out a un-ceremonial yell as two glowing, eyes blink centimetres away from my face.

"Good god, Solar, are you alright?" Ruin says, standing up straight, looking down at me as I'm sprawled out on the desk, I had fallen asleep at the computer again, clearly.

"Rui- Jesus. Stop doing that." I grumble, rubbing my eyes and squinting at him. "What do you want?"

"Oh! W-well, I just- I merely saw you were asleep and it is currently..." He mimes checking a watch, "11 pm! And, I just thought maybe you'd want to do something, burn that midnight oil one could say!" He throws up his arms, eyes sparkling.

"Like- like what..? Y'know if I'm asleep at 11pm then maybe you should let me sleep?"

"Well- well, yes, but I- I just- well,  couldn't sleep, and I- I wanted to do something, and, and, and- well- I enjoy when we do things together, and I was wondering if you wanted to do something..?" His voice steadily rises probably about three octaves by the time he finishes the sentence.

"Again, Ruin, like what?" I ask again. Leaning back in my chair.

"We can figure that out on the way, no?" He tilts his head, a hopeful smile on his face.

"Y'know what? Fuck it, sure." I get up and stretch, joints popping with a worrying crack. I should probably get Moon to check that out at some point.

"Really? Wonderful! Let's go, shall we?" He does a half-curtsey as the door opens, I roll my eyes and walk through the door of the Daycare.

_______________________AN HOUR LATER_______________________

We walk around in circles for a bit, then Ruin stops with a gasp. I look over at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Do you have any expertise in baking?" He points at me suddenly.

"Uhh.. not really, no..?" I shrug, "It's not something I really tend to do?"

"Really? Well, I must teach you, something basic.. like..." He taps his cheek in thought, "Cookies? Shortbread! That's basic! Well- not- not basic, I don't want to belittle you, per se- let us say.. it's an easier recipe! Only- only if you want, that is." He rambles on.

"Uh.. sure..? It's not like we're burning calories walking around here." I reply, his face lighting up as I agree, his stupid, smiling face.

God he's pretty.

Wai-

Uhhhh oh.

Let's just- make these stupid shortbreads and be done with it.

We eventually end up in the kitchen, Ruin rambling on the whole way.

"Solar? You've been rather quiet, is something the matter?" He says suddenly, looking at me with a small, lop-sided grin.

"Wha- uhh.. no..? No, I'm good. Sooo... uhh.. here we are. In the kitchen.... What were we making again..?" Damn, I spaced out basically the whole walk here.

"Shortbread, my good man! I- err.. I mean- Shortbread, we're making shortbread." He scratches the back of his neckpipe and fusses with the collar of his ruffles awkwardly. I  look at him for a second then dismiss it, probably nothing..
