Private Jet

Imani's POV:

    It's been three weeks since Emily showed up at my place with Sophie. We've been hiding out in a tiny apartment for the last week and a half. The three of us were laying on the bed in our small bedroom that we shared when I heard my phone ring. I pick it up from the floor and look at the caller ID and it's my roommate Joe.

   I answered the phone.

"Joe? Did it work? Can we take the plane?"

Joe responds with a heavy Irish accent to her questions.

"Yes! Also even better, my uncle said you can take it all the way to South Africa but you still need to stop in Dublin first to refill the plane which shouldn't be too long."

    I sigh with relief and look over at Emily who is watching me with a worried and curious look in her face then respond to Joe.

"Tell your uncle that we are very grateful and I owe you one."

      He chuckles.

"No problemo can't say no to a friend in need. Have a safe flight." 

      I hang up the phone Emily takes a deep breath " So.. Do we have the plane? It's actually happening.

" Emily nods and sits up. She looks relieved but also nervous.

       I sit up and begin to take off my silky pink bonnet.

" It's going to be ok I promise you don't have to worry, we're finally getting out of here and you'll both be free"

      Emily smiles and nods then looks at her daughter who is sleeping between us.

" I'll stop worrying when we're up in the air. Also thank you for all of this Imani."

        Sophie starts waking up, she opens her eyes and looks at us confused.

"Why are you guys up? Are you leaving me?"

        Emily lays down and kisses her daughter.

"No baby, but the three  of us are going to get on a plane and we're going to see Zebras and Elephants soon!"

        The toddler gasps in excitement.

" Yay! Is daddy going to meet us there?"

          I notice Emily let out a sigh and shakes her head. Before Sophie asks why her dad isn't coming  I decide  to change the subject ."We should start packing!"

         Emily nods at me then to her daughter. "Yes! Luckily we don't have too much luggage."

         Sophie stands up on the bed.

"Yeah! Lets gooo."

Emily and I quickly pack our  two bags that we brought with us, Sophie is jumping on the bed as her mum packs her bag as well. Once I'm done packing, I get an Uber for us to take to the airport. After we are all ready to go, the three of us head out of the apartment. Spohie decided to walk between Emily and I. As we exit the building Emily picks up Sophie and we start making our way down the busy street of NYC to the Uber.

The three of us get in and Sophie is sitting on Emily's lap with her backpack still on, we put our bags on the car floor. The uber driver looks at us a couple times in the rearview mirror.

"Going anywhere, fun ladies?"

Sophie smiles and yells.

"We're going on an adventure!"

Emily and I smile at her answer, the Uber driver chuckles and nods.

"Well I hope you have a great adventure!"
