"So, miss Brown, are you ready for tonight's date?"

It had been a week since school started. After what happened during the tryouts for the soccer team, Rosie continued to avoid the Cobras like the plague — except for Jimmy and Tommy — and her and Kara spent most of their time with Daniel, David and — surprisingly — Freddy Fernandez and his girlfriend Becca Wallace.

The first time the two girls met Becca, the junior was very reserved, observing the two and trying to understand why two girls like Rosemary Brown and Karen Atkins — Ali Mills' best friends and the Cobras' 'girls'—were kind to her and Freddy.  After a couple of days, she realized that there was no malice on their part and they became very close. It was as if Becca was the perfect union of Rosie and Kara and they liked that.

Ali hadn't made a move on Daniel yet, but despite that she often asked her friends about him. Johnny tried in vain to talk to Rosie, until Dutch told him it wasn't worth wasting his time with a 'chick like her' and — eventually — she would realize on her own the mistake she was making by spending all her time with 'Danielle'.

Rosie was walking to her locker when she felt a presence next to her and looked up from the ground only to meet Daniel's gaze, who wiggled his eyebrows playfully. The girl smiled. Over the past week, she and the LaRusso boy had spent so much time together that it seemed like the two had been friends forever. "I think so... I mean, I've never been on a date before, but I think it'll go we-"

"Wait, wait, wait, wait.", the boy stopped on his tracks and opened his mouth in shock. "Are you telling me that you, Rosemary Brown, the nicest, smartest, most beautiful girl in our school, beside Ali Mills of course, has never gone on a date? Are you kidding me?"

The girl frowned, "No, why should I?"

"Wow. The kids in this school must be blind. I mean, look at you! If it weren't for my crush on Ali, I probably would have asked you out already.", the brunette rolled her eyes playfully. "Last year there was this boy, Jeremy McClain. He was on my debate team. We soon became friends and I think there was something more to both of us, but when he found out that I was Bobby's sister he kinda disappeared."

The older boy's eyes widened in realization, "King Karate! Why didn't I think of this before?"

Rosie looked at him confused, he cleared his throat and spoke. "That guy clearly has a crush on you! I understand why no boy in this school dares to hit on you!", Daniel shrugged. "C'mon, Rosie! They want to stay alive until graduation!"

She sighed, "You're delusional. For the last time, Johnny doesn't have a crush on me! Has he flirted with me sometimes? I mean, yeah! But only to annoy me."

"Bullshit.", the two turned and saw Kara behind them and reach the two walking next to Daniel. "The asshole had a crush on you since we were thirteen! And the worst thing is that neither of you realized it! His ego is so big that he doesn't understand his flirting goes beyond annoying you and you're just too obvious to realize that."
