The meeting with the Patriarch had left Wangji feeling drained, both physically and emotionally. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had just made a deal with a devil, trading his freedom for the sake of his clan and peace of the cultivation world. The weight of the agreement hung heavy on his shoulders, like a physical burden he couldn't shake off.

As he walked back to his quarters, he was met with concerned glances from his clan members. They knew something was amiss, but they didn't dare ask. The tension in the air was palpable, like a living, breathing entity that seemed to pulse with an energy all its own.

Lan Zhan's mind was a whirlwind of emotions, a maelstrom of conflicting desires and fears. He had always been driven by a sense of duty, a need to protect his clan and his people. But now, he was faced with the daunting prospect of marrying the Yiling Patriarch,a man he didn't even know properly, loving or liking him is a far cry.

The thought sent a shiver down his spine, a cold dread that seemed to seep into his very bones. He had always been a solitary figure, content to keep to himself and focus on his cultivation. He had never had any friends, never felt the need for companionship or connection. His isolation had been a choice, a deliberate decision to keep others at arm's length.

Lan Zhan's thoughts drifted back to his childhood, to the days when he was just a young boy, training in the ways of the Lan Clan. He had always been different, always felt like an outsider among his peers. But he had found solace in his cultivation, in the quiet, meditative practices that seemed to calm his troubled mind.

As he grew older, Lan Zhan became increasingly withdrawn, content to keep to himself and focus on his training. He had few friends, and even fewer confidants. But he didn't mind. He was happy to be alone, to lose himself in the quiet, peaceful world of his own making.

But now, all of that was being taken away from him. Weiwuxian's proposal had changed everything, forcing Lan Zhan into a role he didn't want and couldn't escape. He felt helpless and confused, unable to understand why Weiwuxian had agreed to his condition.

Marriage had been Lan Zhan's condition for accepting Weiwuxian's demand, a desperate attempt to maintain some semblance of control over his own life. But now, he wondered if he had made a terrible mistake.

Weiwuxian,The powerful Yiling Patriarch, had agreed to the marriage without hesitation. But why? What could he possibly gain from marrying Lan Zhan?

He thought back to the rumors he had heard about Yiling Patriarch. Some said he was a mysterious and enigmatic figure, shrouded in secrecy. Others whispered that he was the most powerful cultivator in the world, yet his true abilities and intentions remained unknown.

Lan Zhan had also heard rumors about Weiwuxian's cultivation method, a dark and corrupting art known as Demonic Cultivation. It was said to feed on the user's emotions, desires, and life force, granting him immense
power and strength. But at what
cost?

Some said Weiwuxian's powers were boundless, making him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Others whispered that he was cursed, that his cultivation method had consumed him, body and soul.

As he walked, lost in thought, Lan Xichen caught up with him, his eyes filled with worry. "Wangji, are you sure you're doing the right thing? Marriage is a big commitment, and Weiwuxian.......he's not exactly known for his benevolence."

Lan Zhan nodded curtly, his expression stoic. "I've thought it through, Xichen."

Lan Xichen's expression remained skeptical, but he didn't press the issue further. "Be careful, Wangji. That's all I'm saying." He paused, his eyes searching Lan Zhan's face. "I just want you to know that I am here, just a word from you and I come to you, will you tell me wangji?”

Lan Zhan's eyes met Lan Xichen's, a hint of reassurance in his gaze. "I will."

Lan Xichen's eyes lingered on Lan Zhan's face, as if searching for something hidden beneath the surface. He knew wangji, was a complex person, with many layers to his personality. He also knew that he would do whatever it took to protect their clan, even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness.

Meanwhile, Jin Guangshan was busy making arrangements for the upcoming battle against the Wen Clan. He knew that Weiwuxian's involvement would be crucial to their success, and he was determined to make sure everything went smoothly.

As he worked, he couldn't help but think about how the situation could be beneficial to him. With Weiwuxian's help, the war against the Wen Clan would finally come to an end. And on the other side, the Lan Clan would also weaken, as Lanwangji would be tied to the Yiling Patriarch through marriage.

Jin Guangshan thought that this would give him an opportunity to gain the upper hand over the Lan Clan and Rest of the cultivation world.Without Lanwangji, the clan's strongest cultivator, they would be vulnerable.Jin Guangshan might be able to manipulate the situation to his advantage, and can get what he wanted since long time.

But he also knew that the patriarch's involvement was a double-edged sword. The Patriarch's powers were unpredictable, and his motives were unclear but he never intervened in the cultivation world before,So he might not get involved in future as well.Jin Guangshan would have to tread carefully.

As he pondered these thoughts, Jin Guangshan couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The Lan Clan was within his sights, and the Patriarch's marriage to Lanwangji would give him the leverage he needed to take them down.

On the otherhand,As he entered his quarters,Lanwangji's eyes fell on the wangji that hung on the wall, a symbol of his duty and his honor. He felt a sense of resolve to wash over him,a determination to see this through, no matter what lay ahead.

"I will not falter," he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible.

The future was uncertain, but Lanwangji was ready to face it head-on.
