OH GOD, I'M LATE! HE'S GOING TO KICK MY ASS.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Fuck!" I cuss repeatedly as I rush down the stairs, watching my step as I rush around getting changed, i breath in and out as I reach the door that leads to the downstairs which is the shop that my grandpa owns, my hand hesitates on the rusted metal door handle giving myself a minute to compose myself before opened the door and closing it quietly hoping my grandpa doesn't here me putting on my black converse before putting my hair up, I fiddle with my apron as I tie it at the back into a loose bow or knot I jump out my skin at the sound of my grandpa's voice "you are late!" Grandpa yells, I sigh as I look down "I'm sorry, my alarm clock never went off!" I explain he huffs as he looks down at me "You're 20 years old now, you're an adult now not a child" he mumbles I nod, I look at the news paper, ah year 1985 Island of hawno, Kakichi Juni arrested for petty thievery, is sigh as I begin to unload the fruit from the crates and put them on the stall "are we doing a sale?" I asked He hummed "make it 10% off so 80 pence" he says, I nod as I grab a peice of chalk to Write with.

I can tell it's going to he a long day, I've been standing at the counter for 2 hours it's now half eleven and only the elderly have come, as much as I love their stories and jokes they're really not my age "Ah lovely {name} how has your morning been" Beatice asked, a love black woman she is turn 58 next week, she runs the clothing shop a few buildings up, she buys the same thing everyday, two red apples and four cherry tomatoes "I am good, how are you?" I asked back she hums as she puts her things on the counter "you know what I ain't to bad" she smiles, showing the gap inbetween her teeth "are you doing anything for your 58th birthday?" She shrugs with less enthusiasm as my grandpa with constipation "I'm not sure, I'm not as young as I used to be lovely why?" I smile "well maybe we could have a girls day out? Maybe go for a walk, get food as Oikawa's café?" I suggested, she chuckles as she gives me me enough for the food "I would like that, I heard ryonosuke is single?" She raises a brow, I sneer at his name,"Maria you can't be serious about this? He is a number 1 dickhead!" She chuckles as she waves her hand she walks out "seriously though, girl you need to find a man before you become single for the rest of your life!" She said as she left the shop.

I sigh as my Grandpa walks in as he's looking at the news paper "why are all you youngsters causing so much trouble nowadays!" He grumbles as he sits in his usual wooden chair with black and white striped cushion. "Hey remember when your grandma was alive?" He asks gruffly, I hum as I begin to restock the shelves of newly canned foods "she asked me to give you something for your 20th birthday {name}, I understand I am hard on you but not everyone will be kind" I smile as my grandpa tries to be nice in his own way, even when grandma was alive my grandpa was still a grumpy old man, she used to tell me stories of when her and grandpa went on their first date, they were on a his fishing boat having a nice time until he got scared by something in the water and he ended up falling into the water.

I miss my grandma she brought a sense of enthusiasm into the little shop, it's a shame it's not as popular as the shops that have a big surface area, but at least some of the locals like to come in. At the end of the long day I take of my apron and hang it on the hook, as I enter my living space upstairs, I take off my converse and head up the stairs while I undo my hair, I turn on the telly as I sit on the cushion and knit, autumn is just round the corner and I need to make sure my grandpa is nice and warm, I can't have him getting ill as well. I think I'll go with red wool for now, whether he likes it or not I don't care he's wearing it after all I want to save money.
