I woke up to my alarm, as it beeps loudly, I huff as I press the button roughly as I sigh begrudgingly get up and stretch my arms up above my head as I rub my eyes, I get up and stumble to the bathroom to go to the toilet and brush my teeth. I rinse my toothbrush before washing my face and putting my hair up in a pony tail, I then go back to my bedroom to get changed into a white shirt and denim jeans, I then put on black socks. I go down the stairs, I sit on the last step to put on my black converse and tie the laces before going into the shop bit with the scarf I made, I open the door and lock it behind me before putting the apron on. I go searching around to see my grandpa sleeping in his usual wooden chair with a newspaper on his chest, I try note to laugh as I hear his loud snores, I wrap the red scarf around his neck as it gets windy.
I smile as I set up the fruits and vegetables in the crates with the prices as I carry on the prices of yesterday, I then go back in, putting the door stopper in to wedge the door, I then stock the shelves as the weather heats up, I look over at my grandpa who is still passed out in his chair making me chuckle. I go over the radio with some cans in my hands, as I stock the shelves I sing to songs that come on, which is the heart of glass by blonde. I hum as I stock the shelves as I bob my head, "Enjoying yourself?" I hear a man's voice behind me.
I turn to see a guy my age wearing a leather jacket over a plain white t with black denim jeans and black leather boots, his hair was pitch black as the night sky and it was parted so one part of his fringe was gelled to the side "I am, what can I do for you?" I asked. He puts on four apples and a salmon on the counter. "Is that everything?" He chuckles."Did I put on anything else? Do you cell cigarettes?" He corrects him. I shrug,"Next door does" I put his things in separate bags "that will be 2.80" he hums as he takes out 524 yen, I take it and put it in the register as I give him his change, he takes his bags "Hey are you single?" He asks as he leans over the counter."I am." I nod as he hums before standing straight and stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Do you want to go to the arcade with me after your shift?" I hum as I look over at my grandpa, then back at him."What's your name?" I ask before making a decision."Oda katsumi, I am 6ft4, I enjoy arcade games and smoking and I work at my parents' sushi place, Happy now?" He raises a brow."I get off at 5, wait outside, " he smiles as he walks out, I hear him celebrating with his friends, making me chuckle and shake my head with amusement.
As it turns to dinner time, I shake my grandpa awake. He snorts awake "Hey time for lunch, what do you want?" I ask, he grumbles as he shuffles in his chair as he rolls up his newspaper as he slowly gets up from his chair "I don't care" he huffs, I roll my eyes at his answer "really?" He shrugs."Anyways, I'll close up shop, I'm going on a date with Oda" I states he looks over at me "don't lie to me child" I gasp dramatically "I am nit lying I got a date!" He hums "be safe. " he then notices the red scarf before grumbling, but he keeps it on as he goes to sort the bills out as he sorts out his glasses, I smile as I can't help but feel excited for the date, I continue to watch the clock as the hours go by "come on one more hour!" I mumble to myself as I close up shop, and I sweep up the floors and clean the counters, I look at the clock, OK 10 minutes, I remove my apron and and hang it up on the hook, I put my hair down, I put the bobble around my wrist as I go outside and lock up as my grandpa has gone to a near by pub to get drunk with some of his friends "I'm not late am I?" I hear Oda, I look to my right to see Oda walking towards me with hands in his pockets.
