COLD.

It's was freezing cold. That was the only thing she felt in the darkness, along with the burning sensation in her chest--not by fire, but from the lack of air. Her limbs were heavy, her lungs were screaming but her body was too tired to move. The burning sensation was slowly fading, her consciousness slipping away like grains of sand through her fingers.

Her body was slowly descending deeper and deeper into the abyss. Just when she thought she'd released her last breath, something stirred in the distance. It was blurry at first, but as it approached, she could make out shapes—tentecles?  was is an octupus? no. it was . . . a person. A person, with the bottom half of the body resembling an octopus. That was the last thing she saw before the world went black.

The figure with tentacles had been swimming through her usual route when she noticed something unusual: a figure drifting downward, limp. Curious she swam forward to further investigate. As she got a closer, she realize it was a human girl. But she was turning pale and her body keeps sinking further. The person's first thought was to save her but as the she swam closer, her body suddenly crash into something, she tried to push through but nothing—an invisible barrier, preventing her from reaching the girl.

Frantic, the octopus-girl looked around for something—anything— to help. Then she spotted two turtles just a few feet and seems to be at the other side of what seems like a barrier. She swam towards them and signal them towards the girl.

"Hey!!!" She called out, her voice carrying through the water.

The turtles turned to her, successfully catching their attention and they started swimming towards her. She could communicate with the creatures of the sea and thank goodness they understand her.

She explained the situation and asked them to go save the girl.

"Take her to the surface" she said, still pushing against the barrier, frustrated at being unable to more.

The turtles nodded and swam over to the girl, carefully nudging her towards the surface. The girl watched, her heart pounding, as the turtles guided the limp body toward the shallows, hopping they'd reach in time before she herself swam back home, knowing she couldn't stay much longer, fearing her absence might be noticed by her mother would find out of her disappearance and escape again in washing the dishes. With one last glance, she disappeared into the depths.

On the shore, search parties were in a frenzy. Guards and officials called out her name, their voices growing more desperate as the minutes passed. The light was fading, and with it, their hope.
