Dipper walked down into the lab to find Ford sitting at his desk with a notepad in front of him. Dipper sat down in the swivel chair next to him, peering over at what was on the page. "Good morning, Dipper. How'd you sleep?" Ford turned to face dipper who laid his head sideways on the desk. "Meh.. Bill came to harass me.. in human form?" Dipper blinked a few times with a sigh. "Oh? I see he's revived that then.. interesting... Aside from that, what did he have to harass you about?" Ford crossed his arms, placing his hands under them and leaning back in his chair. " Uhm.. Well-" Dipper sat up, inhaling deeply. He thought of a way to explain it without giving away his self-harm. On the other hand though, Bill had said that Ford has done the same thing. "Okay, instead of that, let's start here. What did you go and do before you went to bed last night?" Ford asked, knowing the answer, or at least the most probable one. "Well I.. Um.. I'm blanking right now, I must have been super tired 'cause I can't really remember" Dipper gave an awkward smile, hoping he'd fall for his lies. "Really? That's the best you could come up with?" Ford looked at him for a moment before dipper just shrugged. Ford sighed, leaning forward and placing his elbows on his knees, clasping his hands together. "Alright, just show me." Ford gestured to Dipper's wrist. "What- what're you talking about?" Dipper awkwardly smiled, looking away from Ford. "Don't worry, you're not in trouble. It's just kind of hard not to assume what happened when it was almost one in the morning and you're walking upstairs with a damp washcloth pressed against your arm and some mysterious red liquid staining it." Ford tapped the desk twice, leaning back in his chair once more. "Yeah I guess it is kinda hard not to know what was going on there, huh.. I mean, Bill said you'd had your fair share of experiences yourself so.." Dipper turned to the desk, clicking his pen almost like he was in thought about something. "Did he now? What'd he say? did he take all the credit or did he make it seem like I was some maniac?" Ford smiled slightly, crossing his arms once more. Dipper looked back at Ford, slightly confused. "Neither, what he actually said was that most of it was him but that 'never stopped you from doing it yourself.'" Ford raised his eyebrows in a bit of shock. "Well, he wouldn't be wrong with that.. Though, he always did the more extreme mutilation-" "What's with the whole self-mutilation thing? I've never heard it called that." Dipper sat back. "No? what do you say now..?" Ford raised an eyebrow. "I don't know, just self-harm? Sometimes they get specific and classify it with the type of self-harm, but primarily just that." Dipper shrugged slightly. "Strange.. That's most certainly less violent sounding than self-mutilation" Ford thought for a moment before being interrupted by Dipper. "Yeah, but that's pretty much all Bill talked to me about.. My arm.. " Dipper looked up through the glass at the portal. "And that's a portal to a whole other dimension.. Just right in front of us." Dipper sighed. "Yeah, and I'm sure if we tried, we could make it multiple... But that's not something I'm risking again." Ford smiled and looked towards Dipper. "Do you think.. I don't know, Bill could possibly come through it?" Dipper stood up, flicking a switch that turned on a light behind the glass, illuminating the portal. "It's possible, yes.. But I doubt he's getting out of where he is now anytime soon." Ford walked towards the door that separated him from the portal, placing his hand against it. "Right." Dipper sighed, pulling out a notebook and opening it to the direct middle, the pages displaying a large drawing of an identical shape to the portal, yet not the same thing. "Dipper, what all exactly has Bill told you about me..?" Dipper closed the notebook, looking towards Ford. "Well, He's mentioned that you two were close to ruling the world together.. Uh, he also keeps talking about how much he misses you." Dipper stared at the floor, nodding his head slightly. "Interesting.. Anything else? Or have you been spared the details.." Ford mumbled the last bit of that, hoping he had been. "Nope, nothing else really, just that you and McGucket were also in some sort of situationship. But that's it" Dipper shrugged, pulling out his phone for a moment. Ford was silent for a moment as he felt his face heat up. "Okay, and you couldn't have mentioned that the first time?" Ford walked around his lab, pretending to look for something. "Nope, I wanted to single that bit out" Dipper leaned against the desk. Ford sighed, turning back to him. "Well, you accomplished just that." Ford smiled slightly, "I'm just glad him and I have reconciled since then.. There was a point in time where we avoided eachother because I wanted to keep working while he knew the dangers. He just couldn't stop me in time." Ford walked over to a small folder, flipping through its content. "Do you ever wonder how it would have gone if he continued working with you?" Dipper looked over to Ford who was still smiling. "Every day. If he had stayed, by now him and I both would have would probably be dead or.. who knows really, we might have ruled the world with that stupid triangle." Ford laughed to himself slightly. "And speaking of, Fidds and I are actually going to work on something later, so if you'd like you can go hang out with your friends, I know you haven't seen them since you've been here." Ford turned to Dipper, closing his folder. "Yeah, that's a good idea. It'll be nice to catch up with them" Dipper smiled slightly. "Well, I'll see you sometime later, be safe, Kiddo" They both nodded to eachother as Dipper walked upstairs. He messaged the others about a hangout and they planned it out. Meanwhile in the lab, something sinister was brewing.
