Am I a Hero? (Male Homelander Reader x DC)

God in the sky

It has been a few months since I killed Hugo. It sent shockwaves throughout Gotham and its criminal underbelly. As well as a certain Bat dude that patrols this crime ridden city

I floated above the dark city, above the clouds and watching through a hole in the cover. Criminals ran around doing practically whatever they pleased until the cops showed up

But my eyes were on a red and green uniformed individual running across the rooftops. He had a sword sheathed on his back and covered his head with a hood, but I had seen through vision, so I saw his whole face

He leapt from rooftop to rooftop with ease, back flipping off a small building and grappling into a taller one before perching on a ledge, overlooking the streets

But I wasn't here for him

Two-Face had gotten his hands on some of Hugo's contraptions and files, which could reveal everything Vaught has done. And I was tasked with finding it as well as destroying it

But first I had a pitstop at the Iceburg Lounge

The villain known as the Penguin had sold off some intel on Two-Face that coincidentally coincided with what we needed, so I had to drop by and get it

I hovered right above the lounge and descended quickly, smashing through the roof and right in front of Penguin. He shot back in sudden surprise before coughing and steeling himself

"What-hey! Use the front door like a normal person you geek!" He yelled

I smiled and waved my hands

"Didn't have the time. Now, where is Two-Face?" I asked

Penguin coughed and composed himself

"Right. Right. You Vought nerds wanted that. He is in Old Gotham under the old Kraken Fishery department building. Everything you need is there. But you remember our part of the deal correct?" He asked

I nodded

"Total destruction of whatever weapons Two-Face has, his files on incoming shipments and his stashes around the city" I said

Penguin nodded

"Alright" He said

"Physical or digital?" I asked

"Two-Face keeps everything physical ever since Batman hacked his systems. Best guess is they are behind a safe or something. Very paranoid" Penguin said

He sat back down in his chair and I shot back up into the sky through the same hole I made through the roof

"Someone go fix that hole!"

I flew above the clouds again and floated over Old Gotham. I sighted the fishery and looked through the building to find Penguin's intel was solid and reliable

I spotted the files and inventions sitting on a table surrounded by Two-Face's goons. It looked as though they were trying to dismantle them to sell the parts, but unfortunately for them they wouldn't get a payday

Descending quickly once more, I smashed through the roof of the building, taking down goons along with me. Their fragile bodies combusting almost immediately

I stood up and sent a laser through the room, cutting paper, metal, and flesh apart alike. Fires erupted from the heat and began to burn the building. I slowly walked through the room and cut through everything that wasn't on fire with my lasers

The lasers cut through the walls and sliced through unsuspecting goons behind them. Blood spewed everywhere before being burned by the heat. The smell of rotting flesh began to fill the air and made me scrunch my nose

I kicked down a wall and found a safe buried under burning wood, and looking through it I found the files Penguin wanted. Perfectly intact from the flames outside. I ripped off the door to the safe and grabbed the files

I took a look around the building and found everything either burning or destroyed. So I decided to take my leave in the form of shooting up into the sky

The building exploded shortly after, causing a wave of sirens to pick up

I flew back to the lounge and found the hole in the roof being repaired, so I descended slower and went through a still open gap, much to the shock of the repairmen

I landed back infront of Penguin and tossed the files onto his desk. Penguin smiled before taking a long hit with his smoke pipe and let out a horrible laugh

"Barely 3 minutes. I'm impressed. Every meta human I hire takes at least a couple hours" He said

"What can I say? I work fast" I shrugged

"Hm. If you ever stop working for Vought  you'll always have a place here. Anyways I got an important meeting to get to, so scram" Penguin said

I chuckled a bit before flying back out of the building and into the air for the third time in the past 20 minutes. Back above the clouds, I smiled at the sight of the burning fishery before flying back to Metropolis, making sure I was flying silently

I sat foot on the landing pad on Vought headquarters and quickly walked into the building. The illuminated hallways greeted me as I walked down to the main office

Employees greeted me as I passed by, I gave them a nod in return. I eventually ended up behind the massive double doors leading to the main office. I took a deep breath and pushed my way inside

Mr Edgar was sitting at a table shaped like a V facing me. He was going through some reports from the pharmacy and he looked up. Our eyes met and a small smile came across his face

"Excellent results Homelander. Quick and precise, just as you were trained" He said

I nodded

"Thank you sir" I said

"That should be the last of Hugo's items. We have scrubbed the rest while you were out. But I also have a little surprise for you" He said

I cocked an eyebrow

"Surprise?" I asked

Mr Edgar stood up

"May I introduce V-02 as your partner" He began

The doors behind me opened up

"Black Noir"
