Screams rang out as gunfire erupted in the city of Metropolis. Yet, it never stopped. Which brought an angry and annoyed sigh to a man sitting in his chair in a very tall building
The door to his office opened and a secretary walked in
"Ground forces indicate that the conflict will be resolved soon" She said
The man nodded
"Good. Once again, the heroes leave us to suffer at the hands of these.....people. How many people are injured?" The man asked
"Over 100 wounded, unknown amount of deaths, Mr Edgar" The secretary said
The man, now known as Mr Edgar, sighed and rubbed his eyes
"And tell me, where are the so called Justice League? Superman? Supergirl? Any super for that matter?" Mr Edgar asked
"Unaccounted for since this morning. Reports indicate that crime surged within minutes after criminals ran free after their crimes and told their other buddies" The secretary said
"How long did the police force last this time?" Mr Edgar asked
"Not even an hour" The secretary said
Mr Edgar sighed
"Well, at least one good thing is coming out of this. How is strike team Delta?" Mr Edgar asked with utmost seriousness
The secretary matched his feeling
"Five cases secure. Over 20 vials on their way to the lab" She said
Mr Edgar nodded
"Have the team break down the formula as soon as it arrives, but keep a good number of them pure. We might not have another chance at this" Mr Edgar said
The secretary nodded
"Yes sir" She said
The secretary took a bow before leaving the room. The gunfire slowly died down within the hour, and Mr Edgar began to make his way down the elevator and below ground
The elevator stopped at a low floor and he walked inside. Pure white halls stretched almost endlessly as he masterfully navigated his way around
A set of double doors were opened by two security guards to reveal massive armored and weaponized vehicles
