I put my phone down and smile before getting ready to meet with Ava again, I put on a playlist somehow linking Noni to every song.
Once I was ready I walked downstairs and grabbed my stuff, "Eden are you ready?" I called up the stairs and she nodded walking down the stairs with her bag.
I was taking to stay with my mum for a week, I always feel bad as when our parents first broke up, I was 16. I understood the situation and only had to put up with backwards and forwarding for years, to Eden this was normal, she had it her whole life.
"Here look at these pictures Noni Madueke sent me" I said passing Eden my phone as I began to drive the car, "wow look at me!" She exclaimed looking at all the pictures with the players.
"Was it a good day?" I asked her and she nodded, "Yeah, the best day of my life!" She cheered making me laugh. "That's good, do you want to send Noni a thank you message?" I asked.
"Yeah, are you guys friends?" Eden asked not knowing the situation between me and Noni, "yeah, we went to the same school when I was younger" I said and she nodded, "that cool!"
We stopped at a traffic light so I took my phone of Eden and put it onto the camera, "here send Noni a video" I said and she nodded as I began to drive again.
"Hey Noni, I want to say thank you very much for taking me to meet the players yesterday, it was the best day ever!" I heard Eden say before she stopped the video. "That was Lovley Eden well done" I smiled taking my phone back and quickly sending it to Noni.
"Thank you, has he replied?" She asked making me laugh, "not yet but I will let you know if he does."
I continued driving to my mums house and when I arrived I pulled outside checking my phone, "Eden Noni replied" I smiled as she gasped excitedly, "what did he say?"
"I don't know, it's a video" I said clicking play on the video for us both to watch. "Hey Eden, I'm glad you had a great time yesterday, thank you for sending me that video it really made me smile. It was nice to meet you the other day too, take care"
I looked at Eden as she bounced up and down on her seat, "that was nice wasn't i?t" I smiled and agreed. "Okay let me take you inside" I then said grabbing her bag from the back as she followed
I said goodbye and drove off before picking up Ava on the way to the shops, We got out and started with eating food.
"Danmm this is good" Ava said as we ate our food, "it's worth the money " I added and she nodded as wingstop was pricey.
"Anyway what did you want to tell me that had to be in person" Ava then said as I took a deep breath, "I might be going out for dinner tomorrow with Noni."
"Shut up! How has this happened" she exclaimed and I laughed telling her the whole story.
"And you agreed?" Ava said in shock once I had finished the story, "yeah, Eden had the best day of her life and Noni is kind" I shrugged.
"Girl, he's done the bare minimum" Ava said, "He knows he messed up in year 10, I was dramatic and didn't let it but I can see he's sorry and he is making up for it"
"Sapphy, you liked him, he knew it, I know it but you just never want to admit it. You had no friends in year 11 and the state I found you in year 12, no one should have to feel and live like that" Ava said and I shook my head, "I brought that on myself, I could have made friends but I shut myself away."
"I just feel like you don't actually want to talk to him, you miss the memories from when you were young, remember how he disrespected you" Ava said and I just shrugged.
"I have to go now anyway, can I at least get a nice outfit?" I said as a smile grew on Ava's face, "Yeah let's go, only to show him what he missed out on tho, obviously"
"He is really nice tho, look at this video he sent Eden this morning" I said pulling out my phone, any excuse to watch the video, "Girl look at your smile" Ava said looking at me as I tired to stop smiling but couldn't.
Ava and I spent hours trying on different outfits and doing fashion shows, I honestly hadn't laughed so much.We finished up with shopping and went back to my dad's house, "hey girls" my dad smiled when we walked through the door.
"Hey dad" I smiled, "Hey, Michael" Ava joined.
"How was shopping?" my dad asked, "Yeah it was good thanks, we got lots of stuff" I smiled. "That's good" my dad said, "Yeah thank you" I replied and he nodded.
We spoke a little more before me and Ava left the room and got some snacks in the kitchen before heading up stairs to watch a movie for a bit. I tired to stay focused on the movie but I couldn't get Noni Madueke off my mind.
