After the warlock helped me settle in, I never saw him again. I was thirteen at the time and later that year Valentine was killed, apparently by his own daughter during the Mortal War, and then during the Dark war his evil son was killed by the same girl.
I didn't have to deal with any of that though, because I was living my best life as a warlock in the shadow market. The best party was, I was good at what I did. I collected secrets and sold them for a fair price. When I was younger my parents had me heal people in order to make money, now I do a little bit of everything, but my favorite things to do is study people and learn all about them.
Take Barnabas Hale for example. Barnabas is a cynical, business person. He hates Shadowhunter more than my mother does. He's a warlock, his warlock Mark being a forked tongue, yellow reptilian eyes and skin that is made of scales and he's about 3 feet tall. Nobody really likes him, mostly because he's greedy and will do almost anything to make more money, including making rent higher, which is why I don't own a stall in the Shadow market, that and because of Johnny Rook.
Me and Rook have an agreement, I don't work at a stall that sells secrets and information, and he doesn't tell the spiral labyrinth that I'm still alive. To this day, I still don't know how he found out about me.
He thinks he has the upper hand. he may know who I am but I know about him too, and I'm better at getting info. I can't wait to shove it in his smug face that I know all about his son and his Moth-
