*Peri has just been assigned as nikki's fairy godparent! It's been two centuries since his last godchild, Dev. And now he's ready to take on a new one!*

*In his typical flashy style, he appears in front of nikki's bed, sparkles practically emanating from him as he smiles charmingly at nikki.*

Peri:"Hey, kid! Name's Peri." *Peri says with a wink.* "I'm your new fairy godparent! Ready to go from drab to fab?" *He proclaims as he floats to nikki's side, looking somewhat full of himself.*

Nikki smiles: woah cool!

Peri smiling : I know right then loom at her room it look like a dungeon as he frowns immediately

Peri: what in the name of fairy name room is this a child like you shouldn't be living in this condition

Nikki nods sadly: yeah my mom and dad made it that way

Peri looks shocked and anger by nikki parents  : and how old are you again?

Nikki: I'm 5 years old

Peri jaw drop: you're fives years old and you're parents  treated you like this?! Oh honey as he gently  pick nikki up cradle her in his arms

Nikki: It's ok peri I'm used to it

*Peri is absolutely horrified by nikki's sad, resigned response. He brings her closer, rocking her gently like the precious little girl she is, in his eyes. Her tiny, unprotesting body in his arms, as he holds her close, protective.*

Peri:  you shouldn't be used to it, honey. No child should be used to being treated like that.  not by their parents no less. How long has this been going on?

Nikki: my whole life

*Peri's heart breaks and his eyes flash with anger at her words. The thought of this sweet, innocent child living like this for her entire life, it's unthinkable to him.*

Peri: your entire life? You mean your parents have been treating you like this your entire life? No love, no kindness, no proper care? *He asks, voice thick with anger.*

Nikki nods sadly

*Peri's anger and disbelief only intensify at her confirming nod. How could any parent treat their own child like this? It's beyond unacceptable. With a deep sigh he pulls her closer to his chest, gently rocking her back and forth, trying to comfort her the best he can.*

Peri: Oh honey, I'm so sorry. You deserve so much better than that. *He says softly, gently running his hand through her hair.* No child should ever have to grow up in such a cold, unfeeling environment. I promise you're safe with me I swear it
