raven is lying on the warm concrete, her lower legs in the water, and her arms behind her head.  she wanted to get out here early so that she had a few minutes to think about what mick had said.

she knew mick was right. she was scared to talk to slash because she didnt want him to say it all meant nothing to him. because it meant something to her

but the sliding door opening interrupted her thoughts. she sat up on her elbows, tilting her head back to see who it was. ozzy and steven, illuminated solely by the lights in the bottom of the pool. "hey guys," she sighed, laying back down.

steven laughed softly, setting a beer down next to her. "hey rav."

she guessed it paid to be rockstars in a hotel at night because usually, the pool would be closed according to the sign on the gate. it said no guests after 7 but it was well past 10 at the moment. raven sighed, swishing her legs around while the wind ruffled her bangs which were damp with a hint of sweat.

another fifteen or so minutes passed of steven and ozzy talking and messing around while raven continued to try to think. aside from her brother and best friend lurking around, the atmosphere was painfully familiar.

she's brought back to the night a few weeks ago when she and slash kissed at the pool. but that was in georgia. she started counting the stars, trying to focus on something else.

when she got to 300, she stopped and looked over at the sound of the new voice. she saw mick (still in his leather pants and t-shirt) standing over by ozzy while slash messed around with steven.

raven couldn't help the way her start lingered on saul, mostly his smile as steven told him some joke he'd tried on raven earlier. the corner of her lip quirked up just a bit at the sound of his laugh before she laid back down again, toying with the strings of her red bikini bottoms.

she sighed again, thoughts now drifting uncontrollably back to the night in georgia. when she felt someone slid up onto the concrete next to her, she look over to see black curly hair facing across the pool.

she kept her eyes on the sky, recounting the stars. she stops again, this time at 150 and looks back over at slash. this time, he's staring at the tattoo on her leg. she sits up, this time keeping her hands on the ground beside her. "its new," murmurs, breaking the silence.
