Yoongi POV

It was supposed to be a quick errand. In and out, no complications. But as I stand in the shadows of a busy plaza, I find myself… distracted.

I don’t usually look twice at people. In this world, most aren’t worth the attention. But something pulls my gaze to her—standing by the fountain, her hand resting gently on a small boy’s shoulder.

She’s smiling. A soft, warm smile that’s so rare it almost feels… out of place. She’s crouched beside a little boy who’s clutching her hand like it’s his lifeline. He looks lost, tears streaking his cheeks, and yet somehow she’s made him smile. How?

My Associate: [whispering] “Boss? You’re ready to head back, right?”

I ignore him, my eyes fixed on her. Who is she? In a city where people don’t give a second glance to someone else’s pain, she’s… different. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something so pure in the way she looks at the boy.

Does she really not understand what kind of people walk these streets?

Then I notice three men striding toward her. Tall, sharp-looking men with intense gazes. They’re obviously brothers, each radiating a powerful presence. I recognize them instantly: the Kims. Namjoon, Seokjin, and Taehyung. Infamous in their own right, each running their own company, each known for their iron-clad power. But… her? She doesn’t match what I imagined as their sister. I thought she’d be powerful, guarded—someone with walls built around her.

But she’s nothing like that.

Namjoon: “Y/N! You’re supposed to stay with us. We’ve been looking everywhere.”

She laughs, a sound so soft and sweet I almost don’t catch it. “Sorry, oppa. Jihun here was lost, and I couldn’t just leave him.”

Jihun. So she even knows the kid’s name now.

Seokjin: [crossing his arms, shaking his head] “One day, Y/N, your kindness is going to get you in trouble. Not everyone has the same heart you do.”

Taehyung: [laughing as he ruffles her hair] “But that’s our little Y/N—always the hero, huh?”

She rolls her eyes at them, playful but still so… innocent. Her brothers surround her protectively, each clearly adoring her, each with a look that says she’s the light of their lives. And watching them, something in me shifts, something I haven’t felt in years.

My Inner Thoughts: So this is the little sister of the Kims. Interesting.

I smirk, unable to look away. The way she shines in this gritty world, so completely unguarded—it’s like she’s a light in the middle of the darkness I know too well.

My Associate: [clearing his throat] “Boss? Everything’s ready for us to go.”

My voice comes out cold, quiet, but edged with something even I can’t quite explain. “No. Not yet.”

I watch her as she and her brothers walk off with the kid’s hand in Namjoon’s, returning him to his mother. Her kindness, her innocence—she’s a mystery, one that I didn’t expect and one I can’t shake off. And just like that, she’s put a dent in my world, leaving me with a feeling that’s… unfamiliar.

My Inner Thoughts: She’s caught my attention. And I don’t just let go of things that catch my attention.

As she disappears into the crowd with her brothers, I realize I have a decision to make. Something in me wants to know more, to find out everything there is to know about this girl who’s completely unaware of what kind of person has his eyes on her now.

Me: [under my breath] “Y/N. Let’s see if you can keep my attention.”

(With a smirk, I signal to my associate, already planning my next move. Something tells me that my life just changed in ways I can’t even begin to understand.)
