Author’s POV

Yoongi had known about Y/N long before this moment. She was the youngest sibling in the influential Kim family, adored by her three brothers: Namjoon, Seokjin, and Taehyung. They’d built an empire, each brother managing a separate part of the conglomerate, with Y/N as their heart and soul. Stories about the Kims were always circulating in high circles, and Yoongi had been fascinated by her, especially the rumors of her kindness and charm.

When Yoongi saw her at the market today, he wasn’t surprised—he’d intentionally gone there, knowing she liked to shop in places that didn’t scream "elite." She preferred simplicity over luxury, which was rare in their world. Seeing her in person, laughing so openly with her friend, was enough to ignite something within him.

But Y/N, she didn’t know anything about him yet. And Yoongi had no intention of revealing himself… not just yet.

Yoongi’s POV

I watch her laugh with her friend, Mina. She’s holding up a small plant, admiring it like it’s something precious. I find myself smiling slightly at her expression, drawn in by her genuine delight.

I make my way closer, careful not to appear too obvious. Just as I approach, her gaze meets mine, curiosity filling her eyes. It’s like she’s trying to figure out why a stranger would be so interested in a simple plant in a crowded market.

Yoongi: [nodding respectfully] “It’s rare to see someone so captivated by something so small.”

She blinks, a bit taken aback, but then smiles politely.

Y/N’s POV

This stranger’s presence is intriguing. He doesn’t look like someone who frequents crowded places, and yet here he is, in the middle of a busy market. There’s something about him—calm and observant—that draws me in.

Y/N: [smiling shyly] “Sometimes, it’s the small things that make the biggest difference, right?”

He nods, seeming thoughtful, but before he can reply, Mina nudges me, raising an eyebrow at our conversation.

Mina: “Y/N, are you going to introduce me, or are we just pretending I’m invisible?”

I laugh, slightly embarrassed, and turn back to the stranger.

Y/N: “This is my friend, Mina. And… you are?”

Yoongi: [with a slight smile] “Yoongi. It’s nice to meet you both.”

The way he says his name, so calmly and confidently, catches my attention. But before I can ask him more, I hear a familiar voice behind me.

Namjoon’s POV

I spot her talking to someone. At first, I think nothing of it, but then I notice the man beside her. Something about him feels off—he doesn’t fit in here. My protective instincts kick in immediately, and I quicken my pace, calling out to her.

Namjoon: [firmly] “Y/N!”

She turns, surprised, and the stranger looks at me with an unreadable expression. I step between him and Y/N, keeping a steady gaze on him.

Namjoon: “Who’s this?”

Y/N’s POV

I glance between Namjoon-oppa and Yoongi, feeling the tension. Yoongi stands calmly, not fazed by Namjoon-oppa’s protective stance. It’s like he’s used to handling these kinds of situations. I step forward, trying to ease the tension.

Y/N: “Oppa, this is Yoongi. I just met him a few minutes ago. We were talking about… plants.”

Namjoon-oppa doesn’t look convinced. He keeps his focus on Yoongi, who just smiles slightly, as if he’s finding this amusing.

Yoongi’s POV

I recognize the look in Namjoon’s eyes. It’s the same one I’ve seen countless times from men protecting what they hold dear. He sees me as a threat, and maybe he’s right to. But I keep my expression calm, respectful.

Yoongi: [extending his hand] “Yoongi. I’m sorry if I overstepped.”

Namjoon doesn’t take my hand. Instead, he steps closer to Y/N, shielding her. I can tell he’s not one to trust easily, and I respect that.

Namjoon: [coldly] “You should be careful who you talk to, Y/N. Not everyone’s as friendly as they seem.”

I take his warning for what it is, giving Y/N one last look before I step back.

Yoongi: “It was nice meeting you, Y/N. Take care.”

I turn and walk away, feeling Namjoon’s eyes on my back. I know I’ll see her again, but for now, I’ll leave things as they are.

Author’s POV

As Yoongi disappears into the crowd,   Y/N feels a strange sense of loss, as though she missed an opportunity to learn something important. Namjoon, on the other hand, is relieved to see Yoongi leave. He doesn’t know who Yoongi is, but his instincts tell him to keep Y/N away from people like that.

But Yoongi’s interest in Y/N isn’t something he can easily walk away from. He already knows too much about her, and the brief encounter only solidified his curiosity. The girl everyone describes as kind and gentle has a strength he didn’t expect. It’s a quality that draws him in, making him want to see her again, to learn more about her. He knows she won’t make it easy—especially with her brothers watching her every move.

In this moment, the seed of their connection has been planted, even if   y/n doesn’t realize it. And with Yoongi’s quiet determination, this isn’t the last time their paths will cross.
