Liana frowned, knowing how delicate such a situation could be. “And how do you plan to approach his wife? She’s not just going to betray her husband to a stranger.”

Alexander nodded, understanding the challenge. “That’s where you come in. You have a way of connecting with people, of making them trust you. If anyone can get her to open up, it’s you.”

Liana considered his words, the gravity of what he was asking. It was a dangerous game, one that could have deadly consequences if they made the wrong move. But she knew that Alexander was right—they couldn’t afford to wait any longer.

“All right,” she agreed, her voice steady. “I’ll do it. But we need to be careful. One wrong move, and Rinaldi will know we’re coming for him.”

Alexander’s gaze softened, a hint of relief in his eyes. “Thank you, Liana. I knew I could count on you.”

She offered him a small smile, but her mind was already racing, formulating a plan. They were walking a tightrope, and the stakes were higher than ever. But she was determined to see it through, to protect Alexander and everything they had built together.

As they discussed the details of the plan, the tension between them began to ease. The weight of the situation had taken its toll on both of them, but now that they had a course of action, there was a renewed sense of purpose. They were in this together, and no matter what happened, they would face it as a team.

Later that evening, after they had finalized their plans, Alexander took Liana’s hand, his touch gentle but firm. “We’ve been through a lot these past few days,” he said, his voice soft. “But I don’t want this to consume us. We need a moment to breathe, to remember why we’re fighting in the first place.”

Liana looked up at him, surprised by the sudden shift in his demeanor. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, let’s take a break from all of this,” Alexander replied, his gaze intense but filled with warmth. “Just for tonight. I want to spend time with you, to remind ourselves of what we have. Let me take you out, Liana. No business, no Rinaldi—just us.”

Liana felt her heart flutter at the sincerity in his voice. The idea of a night away from the chaos, of just being with Alexander, was exactly what she needed. She nodded, a smile spreading across her face. “I’d love that.”
