The corridor's golden light had faded into the muted tones of evening, casting long shadows that danced across the walls. Hyunjin's steps felt heavier now, burdened by the weight of his fragmented memories and the emotional turbulence that had followed. He walked slowly back to his room, accompanied by Seungmin, whose presence remained a steady source of comfort.
As they entered the dimly lit room, Hyunjin sank into a chair by the window, the view of the fading sky providing a momentary distraction from his swirling thoughts. The tranquility of the evening was at odds with the turmoil within him, and he found himself lost in the haze of uncertainty and recollection.
Seungmin, ever perceptive, took a seat nearby, his gaze steady and compassionate. "It seems like today has been quite overwhelming for you. Would you like to talk about what you remember, or perhaps try to focus on something else for a while?"
Hyunjin looked at Seungmin, his eyes reflecting a mixture of vulnerability and determination. "I don't know where to start," he admitted. "It's like I have fragments of memories, but they don't fit together. I remember moments with Felix and Minho, but the details are so elusive."
Seungmin nodded, understanding the difficulty of navigating such disjointed memories. "Sometimes it helps to focus on the feelings those memories evoke rather than the specifics. What do you feel when you think about them?"
Hyunjin closed his eyes, trying to summon the emotions from the distant memories. "It's a mix of warmth and confusion," he said slowly. "There was a sense of safety and joy, but also a deep sense of loss and regret. It's like there's a part of my past that's missing, and I don't know how to piece it together."
As he spoke, the door creaked open, and Chan entered, his expression a blend of concern and resolve. "Your Highness, we've been discussing how to proceed," he said. "The situation is complex, and we want to ensure you're safe while also addressing the unresolved issues with Felix and Minho."
Hyunjin looked up, his gaze meeting Chan's with a mixture of gratitude and apprehension. "I appreciate your concern," he said softly. "But I feel like there's something important I need to understand before we can move forward."
Chan nodded; his expression thoughtful. "I agree. It might be beneficial to delve deeper into your memories, but we need to approach it carefully. There's a risk of overwhelming you further."
Seungmin's eyes brightened with a sudden idea. "Perhaps we could explore some of the places you remember from your past," he suggested. "Sometimes being in the physical space can trigger memories and provide clarity."
Hyunjin considered this, the idea resonating with a flicker of hope. "That might work," he said. "There's a garden I remember. It's not far from here. Maybe visiting it could help."
