The streetlights seemed to rush past the window of the mustang so quickly it made Charlotte feel dizzy. Where was Mia taking her? She didn't recognise this part of town. Oddly they spent the car journey in silent, for a couple that had been apart for a week you would think that they wanted to catch up on anything and everything that had happened in their lives since they had separated. However instead of words filling in the confined space there was a tension, a burning desire that seemed to be ready to explode at any moment.
Before Charlotte could even comprehend making a move towards Mia to stop the tension boiling over like a kettle, she found herself being smirked at by Mia as the car sat outside a restaurant.
"We're here sweetheart, come on we don't want to be late." Mia's hand reached over teasingly squeezing Charlotte's thigh before unbuckling her seat belt and going round the passenger side to open the door for Charlotte, she reached out her hand to her as she patiently waited for Charlotte to unbuckle her seat belt before helping up her out the car. Their faces were itches apart, the energy around them was palpable, even now the lid was off the space. They had found themselves in it and it seemed to be spilling out around the car and down the streets and off into the horizon.
Mia was the first to teasingly break away, pulling Charlotte into the nearby restaurant which first appeared to be shut, however Charlotte couldn't believe her eyes as they made their way inside to the a secluded table that was bathed in candle light and accompanied with black roses on the table, Mia promptly pulled out a seat for Charlotte before settling into her own, her blue eyes never leaving Charlottes as they were served a five course dinner of the best food that either of them had tasted. The conversation now flowed more easily again, them both recounting the deception that Reece and Charlotte and pulled over Marjorie before Mia came back, and how Charlotte was relieved that it was all over and done with. Mia couldn't help but admire Charlotte as she listened intently.
"That devious little mind of yours, I'm impressed!" Mia smirked over to Charlotte as they finished dessert.
All Charlotte could do was blush and pick at the remainder of her food, relieved but embarrassed how she could stoop so low to try and cover something that wasn't really an issue in the first place now she knew that all that was needed to win over Marjorie was an I love you from Reece.
After their meal, they stood, the reality of the outside world seeping back in as they gathered their things. Mia looked at her with a seriousness that made Charlotte's heart race even faster. "I don't want this to end here," she said, her voice low and earnest. "Would you like to come back to my place? We can talk some more."
The question hung in the air, a silent promise of intimacy and discovery. Charlotte felt her knees wobble, the anticipation making it hard to breathe. She nodded, her voice barely a whisper. "Yes," she said, her eyes never leaving Mia's. "I want that more than anything."
Together, they stepped out into the cool night air, their hearts racing in sync as they ventured into the unknown, hand in hand before getting back into Mia's mustang. The streetlights seem to cast a warm glow on their faces and the car, illuminating the path ahead. Whatever fate had in store for them, they were ready to face it, together.
Mia's apartment was a short drive away, nestled in a quaint, tree-lined street. As they made their way inside, the space was cozy and inviting, a stark contrast to the electric energy that pulsed between them. A record player spun in the corner, filling the room with the soulful melody of an old jazz tune.
They both took their respective seats on Mia's plush leather sofa. The conversation flowed as freely as the wine they shared, each question-and-answer peeling back layers of their hearts. Mia's living room was bathed in a soft, candlelit glow, the flickering flames casting dancing shadows on the walls. The warmth of the room seemed to mirror the warmth that was growing between them, a heat that was no longer just a spark but a full-blown flame.
As the hours ticked by, the tension grew, a silent symphony of unspoken desires and yearning glances. The air grew thick with a longing that neither could ignore. Charlotte felt her breath hitch as Mia leaned in, her lips a whisper away from hers. The world around them faded away, leaving only the beating of their hearts and the anticipation of what was to come.
When Mia's mouth finally met hers, it was like the universe had aligned perfectly. The kiss was soft, tentative at first, but quickly grew in intensity, a dance of passion that spoke of the depth of their connection. It was a kiss that promised more than just a fleeting romance—it was the beginning of something profound, a bond that could very well redefine the very essence of love itself.
Their bodies melded together, hands exploring the curves and contours of each other with a hunger that had been building since the moment they first laid eyes on each other. The music grew louder, the jazz notes wrapping around them like a warm embrace, setting the rhythm for their hearts as they beat together in perfect harmony.
They broke apart, both panting and smiling, the realisation of what was happening hitting them with the force of a freight train. "Mia," Charlotte breathed, her voice trembling with need.
Mia's eyes searched hers, a question lingering in their depths. "Is this what you want, Charlotte?" she asked, her voice a husky whisper.
"More than anything," Charlotte replied, her voice unwavering.
With that, they moved as one to the bedroom, the soft light from the hallway casting a warm glow across the unmade bed. They tumbled onto the sheets, a tangle of limbs and desire, the fabric of their clothes slowly peeling away like petals from a blooming flower.
Their lovemaking was slow and deliberate, each touch a declaration of their feelings, each kiss a silent vow to cherish the moment. Their bodies moved in sync, a ballet of passion that seemed choreographed by fate itself. As they reached the peak of their union, they held each other tightly, their hearts beating as one, their breaths mingling in the quiet of the night.
Afterwards, they lay in each other's arms, the warmth of their bodies a stark contrast to the cool winter air that drifted in through the open window. The scent of the candles filled the room, a sweet and spicy aroma that seemed to encapsulate the essence of their burgeoning love.
"I've never felt like this before," Charlotte confessed, her voice barely a murmur against Mia's skin.
Mia stroked her hair gently, her eyes closed in contentment. "Neither have I," she admitted. "It's like we're writing our own story, one that's been waiting to be told for an eternity."
They lay there, entwined in each other's embrace, their hearts open and vulnerable, ready to face whatever the next chapter had in store for them. The night stretched out before them, a canvas of infinite possibilities, a testament to the power of that blind encounter in a quaint coffee shop.
As they drifted off to sleep, the whispers of destiny grew louder, promising a future filled with love, adventure, and the magic that could only come from following their hearts. The story of Mia and Charlotte had only just begun, and it was one that would be told for years to come, a tale of love found in the most unexpected of places, a love that was meant to be.
