Ch.34

Rosé POV

The two weeks without Jennie dragged on slowly, it was just as hard as being away from Lisa, but spending time with Lili was great, we had a picnic, went for walks, went shopping (which means their closet is even more full) and I went to the gym a few times.

My girlfriend said it would be good to exercise, at first I said no, but then I went to the gym with her, there are yoga, dance, pilates, swimming classes, besides the gym itself. I chose pilates, I thought about the dance class, but I didn't really like the other teachers and it wouldn't work with Lisa.

I also ended up doing the treadmill with her, it started like that, then we worked out together, I did the simplest things and still got tired quickly, but she accompanied me, it was fun and I even liked it, I can do it from time to time, but I think I do better at Pilates.

Today was the last day of school, I didn't attend class, I dropped out of the course and then went to my mother-in-law's house, I still haven't told the girls, Jennie arrives this afternoon, I'm just waiting.

— Happy with your decision? — He asks smiling and serves me cake.

— Actually, a lot — I say and see the dogs running towards me and I pet the three of them on the head

— That's good, because you seem happy, but I don't think it's just because of the course — He says, sitting at the table with me, who laughs.

— Not really, I miss Jen and her cute cheeks so much — I say and she laughs.

— Me too, she hasn't called much.

— Yeah, she's really busy, but she's so happy that I'm happy just because of her excitement — I say and she agrees.

— She misses you too — He says and I smile

— Is it hard not having your daughter around all the time?

— I always raised Jennie to be independent, we never spent much time together, she always went out with her friends and her girlfriend, she also went to school, took courses, but we had some meals together, still, I miss her a little, but it's her life, I want her to follow her dreams without a mother getting in the way, but obviously I charge her to come here from time to time — She says and I laugh

— I hope to be as good a mother as you one day — I say and she smiles holding my hand

— It will be, dear, don't worry — She says and I smile too, we eat the cake calmly, talking and then I help her clean everything up — Come with me — She says and I follow her upstairs, curious about going to that part of the house for the first time, we walk down the hallway until she opens one of the doors, I go in right after her

It was a room, the walls, the bed and the rest of the furniture were white, the bedclothes were lilac, there were four pillows, the two in the back with white pillowcases and the two in the front were lilac. There was a white shag rug next to the bed. The desk was the same color, as was her chair, on the wall where she was leaning against, there were several polaroids, I approached and saw photos of the younger Jen, Lili appeared in several, some at school with her friends, I looked at each one carefully.

— It's her old room — Jihye says and I smile

— It's so beautiful — I say

— I thought you would like to meet — He says

— I loved it, thank you — I say, still looking at the polaroids of the two.

— Why don't you get one?

— Can I? — I ask, looking at her excitedly.

— Sure — He says and I choose one of the two hugging, smiling and carefully take it off the wall.

— Thank you — I say and she denies it.

We soon left the room, we were halfway up the stairs when I saw the door open and Lisa come in, Lili looked up at us and was confused when she saw me.

— Lili — I exclaim and run to her, throwing myself into her arms.

— Careful, Rosie — Jihye warns, laughing.

— Hi princess — Lili says — I took you to college today — She says, surprised that I'm there

— It's the last day of class, there wasn't much — I say, I would only tell about the course when Jen was here — Look what I got — I show the photo and Lisa looks at it smiling for a few seconds

— I love this one — He says smiling

— Do you want to stay? — I ask and she smiles, denying and gives me a little kiss.

— We have photo albums at home — He says and I get excited

— Can I see it later?

— Of course, princess — He says and kisses my cheek — Stealing my girlfriend, Jihye?

— She's great

— I know, I have good taste — He says and kisses my cheek

— What are you doing here? — I ask.

— I came to cook for my dear mother-in-law — He teases

— Be careful Lalisa, I'm the mother of one of your girlfriends and a friend of the other — She says and I laugh

— I came to pick up our little ones, love — He says — It's more than time for you to go home

— Yay, I missed you — I say smiling

...

— You need to relax — Lisa says as we wait at the airport.

— Her plane is taking a long time

— No, it's not, you're the one who's very anxious — He says laughing and kisses me

The long wait took a few more minutes and finally Jennie arrived, I threw myself into her arms, hugging her and giving her a little kiss, soon giving space for Lisa to do the same.

— How was the flight? — Lili asks, picking up her suitcase.

— Tiring, I need to rest, but I'm happy to be home — He says and I hug his arm as we leave together

I sat in the backseat with Jen, hugging her and giving her little kisses on the cheek, while she and Lisa talked about the opening of the new store, I decided to just listen. When we got home, we all went to the bathtub, where we stayed for fifteen minutes, Lili made us sandwiches and juice and after we ate we went to sleep for a while, tomorrow I could tell her about college, Jen seems exhausted.
