In the early morning of a beautiful day in middle of spring, the high mountain was a beautiful sight.
The birds started singing for the people living there to wake up.
And so they did, in a room, there were two futons on the floor, in one a light-pink haired boy was waking up, and in the other a beautiful dark haired boy was still sleeping.

The pink one was getting up from his futon and walked to the other boy, moving him softly to wake him up.
"Yuu... Wake up... We gotta prepare ourselves..."
The dark haired one didn't answered, he was still sleeping.
"Ugh... I hate your weird sleeping habits... You sleep too much Yuu..." He said as he started to move him faster.
"You're tasting my patience Yuu.... Wake up already, pleaseee...?" The cute boy with fox eyes asked.
Yet, the dark haired boy didn't woke up, that made the Fox's eyes boy to get pissed and sighed trying to keep in calm, he would hate to hurt his friend, yet, this was annoying.
"Yuu, if you don't fucking wake up I'll eat you simmered salmon and daikon and I'll leave you none for you to eat!" He mentioned threatening.
Only then the dark haired boy woke up.
"Sabito...?" He asked rubbing his eyes and sitting in his futon.
"You know grandpa hates when you're swearing..." Said the shortest boy.
They see the master Urokodaki as their grandpa, since he took care of them as his kids, yet he's was old so that's why the nickname.
"I know! But he's not here, plus, you didn't woke up, and we have to practice a little before tomorrow! Remember, we'll go to the final section!" Said the fox eyed boy while moving the other boy a lot like if he were a toy.
"okay! Okay! Stop it, you're getting me dizzy!" He said softly.
"Aw... Party pooper, whatever, just get up!"
The dark haired guy looked down and sighed.
"Okay Sabito... I'll get up..." The smaller kid got up from his futon and started cleaning the place,
Both getting ready for their special day, the more excited one was the fox boy.
Always moving around and pulling the cute water boy.
After cleaning their room they ran to the kitchen room seeing the old man Making breakfast.
"Sabito, Giyuu, how was your sleep kids?" He asked gently.
Giyuu was about to speak but was cut out by Sabito, always too enthusiastic.
Giyuu Didn't seemed to mind at all.
The master seemed to enjoy the long talks of his kids.
After a long talk and eating their breakfast they went to practice, giyuu was the one with the big bag in his back.
"Sabito..." Giyuu called tired.
Sabito turned to look at him and asked.
"What is it, my little fish?"
Giyuu looked at Sabito and sighs slightly annoyed by the nickname, not wanting to admit he liked it.
"Why do I have to be the one with the bags...?" He asked looking up at him.
Sabito smirked and continued walking.
"Cause you woke up late, so I won the right to walk freely, next time wake up earlier"

Sabito's teasing grin was met with a half-hearted glare from Giyuu, who adjusted the heavy bag on his back. He hated when Sabito made those kinds of excuses, but he could never really be mad at him for long.

As they walked through the forest, the fresh morning air filled their lungs, and the sounds of nature enveloped them. Birds were chirping, and the sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting playful shadows along the path.

Giyuu, still groggy from waking up, kept quiet, watching Sabito's bouncing steps in front of him. His friend had always been this way-full of energy, full of life. Giyuu had learned to admire that about him, even if it wore him out sometimes. "You're too quiet, Giyuu," Sabito teased, turning around to walk backward while grinning at me, like he always did. It was annoying, but whatever.

The sunlight was barely cutting through the trees, and the birds wouldn't shut up. Typical spring morning. Sabito's footsteps were light, like he didn't even feel the weight of what tomorrow meant.

Giyuu stayed quiet. It was easier than saying something he didn't know how to put into words. his thoughts were all over the place-thinking about the final selection, about them, about... well, everything.

giyuu's pov:

What if we didn't make it? Or worse, what if one of us didn't? But I couldn't say that. Sabito was the kind of guy who'd just laugh and brush it off.

"You worried or something?" he asked, that dumb smirk on his face as if nothing ever got to him. "You know we've been training for this. We're gonna make it, no problem."I wanted to believe him. Sabito always acted like things were easy, like he could face anything and walk away smiling.

Me? Not so much. But the way he talked, with that confidence-it made me feel better, even though I'd never admit that to his face.

"Yeah," I muttered, barely loud enough to hear myself. "I just... hope we'll both be fine."Sabito stopped walking for a second, and I could see something shift in his eyes. It was weird seeing him serious.

"We will be," he said, and it wasn't playful this time. "I'm not leaving you behind, Giyuu. You're stuck with me, little fish."

I looked away, pretending to adjust the stupid bag on my back. I hated that nickname-'little fish'-but I didn't have the energy to argue. Besides, he wasn't wrong. I probably would be lost without him. Sabito was always the one pulling me forward, even when I didn't want to move.
"Come on, we're almost there!" he shouted, snapping back into his usual loud, hyper self as he sprinted ahead.I followed him, but way slower, thinking about what he said. I tried to shake it off, but there was this gnawing feeling in my chest. I didn't want to lose him. And even though I hated admitting it, tomorrow scared me.

When I finally caught up, Sabito was already swinging his wooden sword like a maniac, practicing as if nothing was bothering him. I watched him for a second, trying to figure out how he could be so... sure of himself all the time.
I envied that, even if I never told him.
"Hey! You just gonna stand there, or are you gonna train?" Sabito shouted, snapping me out of my thoughts.I sighed and dropped the heavy bag, picking up my sword.

I walked over, ready to practice, but the weight of tomorrow was still there, hanging over me like a storm cloud. We didn't talk about it, though. We didn't have to. Sabito was right here, pulling me along like always. And even if I didn't say it, having him by my side... well, it made things a little easier to deal with.
