You walked through the abandoned home with curiosity. The floorboards creaked under you as you strolled forward, flashlight in hand.
It was dark, and there were spiderwebs everywhere. You tried to dodge most of them, but sometimes you weren't so lucky.
On your way home from your friends house, you saw the strange interior, and you couldn't quite understand why, but you felt as if you heard a tiny voice in your head telling you to go inside; almost like an invisible force pulling you in. It looked like nobody had been in it for years, which just made you wanna go inside all the more.
Suddenly, a loud snap was heard from the other room. You stopped in your tracks, fingers tightening around the handle of the flashlight until your knuckles turned a pale white. You swallowed thickly, listening closely.
Probably just an animal..like a raccoon, or something.
You kept stepping forward, this time a little slower, as your grip on the light loosened ever so slightly. You pointed it toward the underside of the stairs; it was hollow, and a blanket rested under it. You felt a chill run down your spine as you swallowed once more, taking a step back.
Definitely not just an animal.
Every instinct you had was telling you to get out of there, to run, that there was probably a person living here, hiding here—
But, you didn't.
The invisible force beckoned you inside, almost as if it were welcoming you with open arms.
So, you walked up the stairs.
They creaked with every step, definitely a great idea to go up them if there really was someone else in the house.
The top floor wasn't that great. Cobwebs draped over every inch of the ceiling, creaky floorboards, a dusty atmosphere, and collapsed wood from god knows what. Much alike the first floor.
You ducked under a cobweb, flashlight scanning over the room along with your eyes as you watched out for any signs of animals....or people.
Snap.
This time, the noise came from right behind you.
A bead of sweat ran down your forehead as you clenched your jaw. A trembling hand tightened around the flashlight as you froze.
Swallowing thickly, you reluctantly tried to move.
Slowly, your head craned to face....
....nothing.Tap tap.
You jumped, a small yelp escaping your throat as you whipped to look up at a guy with messy brown hair, a muzzle on his face, goggles on his head, and a hoodie. From behind the muzzle, he grinned, teeth pressed together. His head twitched softly as he took a step forward, eliciting a scared yelp from you.
"D-Don't be scared.." He stuttered out.
You were utterly confused. But nonetheless, you had to admit....
..He was kinda pretty.
What? This guy probably wants to murder me. What do you mean—
A loud sound of metal against wood echoed throughout the room, causing you to flinch.
"W-Who the hell are y-" Your heart was racing, but you couldn't tell if it was from the odd stranger in front of you, or the fact he just dropped both of his hatchets into the floorboards, hands empty.
"What do you have those for?!" You shouted in fear, eliciting a burst of sick giggles to erupt from the man's throat.
"N-No need to w-worry 'bout that, m-m'kay sweetie?" He reached his hands up, adjusting his goggles onto his head as he grit his teeth, lips twisting into a crooked smile.
Sweetie? You felt your throat go dry as you gazed at the stranger.
"Y-you're Ms./Mx./Mr. Y/N, a-aren'tcha?" He leaned forward, head tilting slightly as he examined your face. You instinctively moved your head backwards, but....
A light blush freckled your cheeks as the man got closer.
"How do you..how do you know my name?" Your voice was quiet as you muttered a fearful inquiry.
He wheezed, a light giggle following suit.
"Y-You're a funny one."
"You think this is funny??" You gripped your flashlight, shining it in his face. He just stared into the light, pupils shrinking as he looked back into yours after a moment.
The hell is wrong with this guy? You gulped nervously.
Suddenly, you began feeling very nauseous. You coughed softly, taking notice of the way the man glanced behind you with urgency, then back down at you as you began to have a coughing fit.The last thing you remembered was a small heart shaped waffle being left next to you as you fainted.
