Chapter 6

The team found themselves in the main room. Kaldur and Superboy were in a fighting position as they circled around one another.

Superboy was shirtless, yet Levi couldn't take his eyes off Kaldur. There was a countdown. Once it reached zero, the two clashed. Superboy threw hard punches as Kaldur dodged most of them.

Megan and Artemis stood next to Levi.

"Kaldur's, uh, nice, don't you think?" Artemis asks Megan.

Levi turned to the both of them with an eyebrow raised.

"Handsome. Commanding. You should totally ask him out," Artemis says.

Levi's eyes widened. He felt his heart rate slowly rise.

"He's like a big brother to me," Megan says. "But you know who would make the cutest couple? You and Wally."

Levi felt his heart rate steady. 'What? Why am I getting worked up over nothing?'

"You're so full of passion, and he's so full of... Uh, of--

"It?" Artemis asks.

Levi snorted. Artemis also laughed as she threw her arm around Levi.

"Good one," Levi says.

The three of them laughed together. Levi turned to see Superboy throw Kaldur to the ground.

"Failed Aqualad," The machine says.

Levi walked over and helped Kaldur to his feet.

"Black Canary taught me that," Superboy says proudly.

Levi looked at Kaldur, imagining what it would be like if the two ever became a couple. He then frowned as he thought about all of the ways he would probably screw it up considering he's never been in love before. That, and the fact that he doesn't have relationship experience.

Red Tornado entered the room as Wally zoomed over to him. "Do you have a mission for us?"

"Mission assignments are The Batman's responsibility," Red Tornado says.

"Yeah, well, The Batman's with The Robin," Wally says. "You know, doing the dynamic duo thing in Gotham, but you're headed somewhere right? Hot date or a-a mission?"

"If we can be of help," Kaldur says.

Red Tornado then turned around as a big screen showed up.

"This is Kent Nelson, a friend. He is 106 years old," Red Tornado began.

Levi's eyes widened.

"Guy doesn't look a day over 90," Wally whispers to Artemis.

"He has been missing for 23 days," Red Tornado says. "Kent was a charter member of the Justice Society. The precursor to your mentors' Justice League."

"Of course. Nelson was Earths sorcerer supreme." Kaldur says. "He was Doctor Fate."

Wally scoffed. "More like Doctor Fake. Guy knows a little advanced science and "dumbledores" it up to scare the bad guys and impress the babes."

"Kent may simply be on one of his walkabouts. But he is caretaker to the helmet of fate. The source of the doctor's mystic might and it is unwise to leave such power unguarded," Red Tornado says.

"He's like the great sorcerer priests and priestesses of Mars," Megan says. "I would be honored to help find him."

Wally immediately shot his hand up. "Me too! So honored I can barely stand it. Magic rocks."

Artemis gave Wally a side eye.

"Take this," Red Tornado says. "It is the key to the tower of fate."

"What are the chances we both so admire the mystic arts?" Wally asks Megan.
