Tomorrow night came. The dining room was decorated heavily and beautifully. The table was set and covered with a purple table lace and had golden candle stands through out the length of it with the candles lit. There were various meals placed on it; from soup to fish, to salads and steak, to stew and rice and wine. Everything seemed... perfect.
There were also a few maids standing against the wall on either side of the dining room.
The kings were sited upright. Yoongi flopped back on his not seeming interested at all.
Hoseok smiled ignoring it. "Shall we pray?"
They nodded in agreement.
He shut his eyes and they did so. Yoongi hesitated before bulging. "Bless this meal and us we pray, from your bounty that we receive in the name of the Almighty."
"Amen," they chorused quietly.
Then they prepared to dig in. The maids made their way to the table, served their preference and returned to their post.
"Good food," Jungkook hummed satisfactorily not looking up once.
Jimin nudged him happily. "That's the salad. Wait till you try the soup," he cheered.
Namjoon nodded mouth full. "I agree, the steak's good."
Taehyung huffed at his humor. "Great to see we're finally getting along."
"Completely. I think all we need are a few dinners together in a while," Seokjin suggested, chewing his rice.
Hoseok smiled at their cheerfulness. "I'm glad y'all like it."
They continued with their meal quietly.
"I hate the stew," Yoongi spat out. "It tastes horrible."
Hoseok paused on his fish looking on to him.
"But at least, it's better than the colors decorating these walls," he coughed, spitting the stew back into the bowl. "And better than some men's taste...in women," he said, tracing Hoseok's gaze with an eerie look.
Hoseok swallowed at his words.
He cleared his throat. "If you do not enjoy the stew, we could have some chicken brought to you..."
"Green was such a very stupid choice for the anointing ceremony. Purple was a good idea for the crowning, though I hate to admit it. Still, too much of it around the castle walls just sickens me somehow," he pointed out, taking a spoon full of the same stew he spat in a while ago. Hoseok shivered at the sight of this feeling... irritated, but it appeared Yoongi did it to intimidate him. "Even with all of this observation, I still prefer it to some men's taste in women," he shrugged finally, saying again while piercing into his eyes.
Hoseok grew uncomfortable.
"Now that you're king, you can bring in to us your opinion on things like this..." He tried to say.
Yoongi scoffed, smirking as he took the bowl of stew stretching it out for a maid to take away. Margaret came forward, bowing in courtesy.
"Broth, please," he purred teasingly at her, still smirking and staring her down as she packed the stew to discard. Hoseok frowned at his actions, boiling in anger silently.
"B-broth?" She asked stuttering.
He pulled a pout. "Did I stutter like you? I hope not to believe you're trembling because of my presence is why I ask," he huffed, shifting his gaze to Hoseok then back to the maid. "Yes, broth. That's what I eat on battle grounds so I'm a little used to it. Although now I'm king, I'll try to get used to these fancy meals prepared by ss-servants like you," he dragged the knowing word causing Hoseok to unconsciously punch the table, the action making his fingers to bleed again. Yoongi looked down on his bleeding fingers. Margaret swallowed at the sight of it, 'that would hurt so much again,' she thought.
"You'd want to get that cleaned up so it doesn't contaminate the lace," he didn't flicker. "I might hate the stew but I love the pattern of it," he looked at the maid tilting a brow. "Get the broth already!"
Margaret came back from her thoughts bowing immediately. "As you command," then she hurried off to prepare it, taking the stew away with her.
