On the airplane, everyone is asleep. Even Ivan.

Except Harmony, though. We talked a bit on the vacation, and she is a part of the band, so a conversation wouldn't be weird.

"Hey." I start, "We should watch that movie now."

"Yeah!" she says a bit too loudly as everyone sleeps, and quickly covers her mouth, "Whoops. Forgot people were sleeping. What movie was it, again?"

"Oh, we didn't choose one yet."

She points at a comedy movie, "Hmm, what about this one?"

"That looks kind of bad. Do you like action or thriller? Star Wars?"

"Not really," she responds.

"Seriously?"

She shakes her head with a funny expression, and I don't realize I'm laughing.

"I didn't know you liked movies like that."

I'm still laughing when I say, "What do you mean: movies like that? I'm offended. They're good."

"Whatever you say."

Finally, I offer, "Okay, what about horror?"

"Yeah, let's find something scary!"

Minutes turn into hours, and we're twenty minutes away from landing. It makes me think back to Ivan's fear of heights. How is he sleeping so comfortably right now, when normally, he'd be too tense and afraid.

That's when I see it.

Sometime ago, while I was watching the movie, Ivan's head had found a place on Harmony's shoulder, and stayed there, still comfortably resting on her now.

I see Harmony glancing down at him once in awhile — probably to check if he's still asleep. And maybe admiring him?

One of his hands are rested on her lap, and from the looks of it, she looks like she wants to hold it.

"You should hold his hand, you know? Maybe you'll ease his fear," I suggest, my head moving to get a better look at them.

She looks like she's about to deny it, until she relaxes and responds with: "I don't think he'd like that. I might overwhelm him or wake him up." She doesn't even sound like she believes herself.

"Ivan likes everything you do. You could step on him and he'd apologize for getting in your way."

"That's exaggerated . . ."

"I'm serious. Plus, he would never be overwhelmed by you. You can see it on his face."

She seems to believe me, and settles on holding his hand as gently as possible to not wake him up.

She handles Ivan gently and with great care, as if he was something fragile that she had to be extra careful with.

It makes me happy for him.
