Chapter 2:

(Jack's POV)

As I walked my motorcycle into my garage I was smiling. Alex was a great girl. Then I remembered the close encounter. "That was close Arcee, too close. If she had pried any more, then we probably would have another member of team Prime. Your gonna have to be more careful when you come to pick me up for school."

"Jack, it was a one time thing. Optimus needed me, otherwise I would have been there all day like usual." Arcee said. Her voice was calm and controlled like always.

"I Know, I know. I'm sorry." I apologized. She transformed and gave me a look. "What?" I said.

"The girl, she's nice. She obviously doesn't take crap from Vince."

"Yeah. Hey shouldn't we be getting to base? I bet Raf and Miko are already there." I said changing the subject. Arcee went for it even though I knew it would probably come up again.

"Yeah, let's go." She called base. "Ratchet, ground bridge."

(Alex's POV)

When I walked in my mom met me at the door. "Your late, what happened?" She looked worried. "Did someone bully you? If they did I will call the principal immediately!"

"No mom, I met some kids at school who were really cool and one gave me a ride on his motorcycle! Now don't freak, we went the speed limit and I wore a helmet. Turns out we live right next to each other." I added at the end. At first I was worried, then mom smiled. "That's great! And you say he lives next door? That's even better! We should invite them over sometime." When dad and my brother got home we ate dinner. It was so much better than the school meals. I went up to my room to get ready for bed when my phone rang. It was my friend from Iowa, Bella. I was looking out the window talking to her when I noticed a blue light coming from Jack's garage window. Then it disappeared. Odd, I thought. Bella hung up and went to bed and I did the same. As I lay there I thought about the strange things I saw. I decided that tomorrow I was gonna pay Jack a visit. I turned off my light and went to bed.

The next day was Saturday so I asked mom if I could go over to hang out at Jack's house. When she said yes I threw on some clothes quick. It was another chilly morning so I wore some heavier clothes. I chose a pair of jeans, a pink t-shirt and a jean jacket. It was late fall, almost winter and I couldn't wait for the cold. It was my favorite season because of the ice and snow. But this time there would be no snow, only cold. That's what happens when you live in a desert. I went over to Jack's house around 10:30. As I went up to his house I noticed that the garage was slightly ajar. When I knocked no one answered. Huh odd. His moms car was still in the driveway. Maybe there both taking a ride on his motorcycle. I wouldn't blame them, it was really fun. I decided to call him and see if he would answer. We had all exchanged phone numbers yesterday after school. My phone was a pink flip phone with emoji stickers on it. I dialed his number. He did didn't answer the first time. "Come on, pick up Jack." Then I heard a click and Jack said "Hello?"

"Hey Jack, it's Alex. Are you home?"

"No" He said plainly.

"Oh okay, where are you? I thought maybe we could have a little chat about your motorcycle and it's mysterious hologram. Or maybe the weird blue light coming from your garage last night?"

(Jack's POV)

"Uh, I don't know what your talking about. What blue light?" Oops, I thought. I hope she doesn't think I'm hiding anything from her.

"Don't play dumb Jack your really bad at it." Alex said. I winced she definitely knew something was up. I had my phone on speaker phone so that the others could hear. Arcee looked intrigued but Ratchet just looked irritated. "Uh, I was using my welder to repair a part on mom's car last night after she got home. Her carburetor was cracked." I lied. I didn't wanna lie but I also didn't wanna bring her into a giant alien robot war either.
