Chapter 10:

Knockout used a small machine to scan my head. I laughed. It tingled.

"Alright, all done for the minute. Just sit tight." He said. A screen came to life and a picture of the scan of my brain showed up. It was all in cybertronian, but again, I could understand it perfectly. "Hmm, interesting. It seems that you have similar brain wave patterns as a cybertronian would have. How that is possible, I have no idea. Well I can't do more now so you may leave when your escort gets here. We wouldn't want you to get lost." He said. A few minutes later a bot walked in. He looked like one of the sedan bots that had attacked Bee a few days back. He gently set me on the floor, then motioned for me to follow him. I walked with him for a while until we reached the bridge. He pointed to the cage. The door had been removed and inside was a bunch if blankets and pillows, some food, and some water. I sat down. "Hey this is pretty comfy." I said gratefully.

"Soundwave bought it all online and had one of us pick it up." Said the bot. I turned to the working soundwave.

"Thank you Soundwave." I said. He paused his work and nodded at me.

(Megatron's POV)

Instead of heading to the engine room, I walked outside on the flight deck. Starscream and his seekers were waiting. In their custody was the autobot Wheeljack. "Hey Megatron, hows it goin'." He said weakly.

"It was very foolish of you to attack my mines alone." I said. He smiled.

"Well, I was looking for a challenge. I just didn't expect escaping from your warship to be part of it." He said.

"Oh, you won't be escaping. And you won't be here. Starscream, escort our new guest to his prison cell in one of our energon mines." I said. I didn't need him here. He would ruin all of our plans. He could even possibly free the girl and escape. With the dolt I have for an air commander I wouldn't doubt it. Not that she would want to leave. I had her eating out of my hand by now. Though I will admit it to myself, I had a moment of pleasure when she let me call her Alex. Maybe it was the way she smiled at me, I don't know, but I didn't want her to leave.

"Hey, in a mine I'll have a better chance if escaping." Wheeljack said interrupting my thoughts.

"You won't be escaping. Starscream, interrogate him, then dispose of him. I have business to attend to." I said. He called for a ground bridge and took the autobot away.

When I walked onto the bridge Alex was sleeping in the accommodations that soundwave prepared for her. It's was 9:00 P.M Earth time. "Lord Megatron, I have made some headway with the scans that I did. But I also found something else." Knockout said as he entered.

"What is that?" I asked. He looked over to the girl, then back to me.

"Maybe we should find somewhere else to talk." He said. I nodded and walked with him to the med bay. "Well this is the scan I took, of her. As you can see there are similarities between that of her brain waves and the normality of a cybertronian. That is one thing. Another is this. There is something odd about her hand. I detected some sort of metal obstruction. At first I thought it was a something from an injury. Then I realized that it was cybertronian technology." Knockout finished.

"Hmm, interesting. Then I suppose I will have a talk with her in the morning." I said.

(Alex's POV)

I awoke with a start, realizing that I had fallen asleep on the Decepticon warship. Rubbing my eyes, I looked at my watch. It was currently 4:00 A.M in the morning. Oops, I hope one of my friends covers for me. Groggily, I opened one of the granola bars that Soundwave had given me. Then I remembered. School! "Um, Soundwave?" I asked. He turned his head toward me. "When can I talk to Megatron? I need to ask him something." He nodded and then turned back to his monitor.

By the time I finished my breakfast, Megatron entered the room. "Good morning. I was told you wanted to speak to me?" Megatron said sweetly.

"Yes. I was wondering, I do have school today, and if I don't show up, my teachers will call my parents. They would be very worried about me. So, I was wondering, if you ground bridged me to school, maybe we could pick this back up after school?" I said sheepishly.

"Hmm. I forgot about your human cultures. But yes, I think that it would work if you promise to come back. We wouldn't want you to get hurt. And of course we will figure out something for you to return home at night." Megatron said. "Soundwave, prepare a groundbridge. I will have you bridged to an alley next to your school."

"Thank you. I'll be done with school around four this evening." I said. Soundwave pressed a button on his console and a bridge opened. "Bye." Megatron waved and tried for a smile, but it didn't quite work right. It looked more like an awkward sneer, which made me giggle.

When other students arrived on the bus, I snuck into the crowd of students exiting the bus. Honestly, I didn't know what to do about my predicament though. Optimus and Megatron both seem nice, and I'm not sure who to believe. I decided that avoiding my friends was the best course of action until I could gather more information.

(Jack's POV)

It was about two o'clock when I spotted her. Alex had suddenly appeared after not being seen since yesterday morning. I ran towards her, but she seemed to not notice me. "Hey! Alex! Wait up!" I called after her, but either she couldn't hear me, or she was ignoring me. Probably the first one. When I finally got close to her, the bell rang and we were in different classes at this time. Drat! Why did it seem like she was avoiding me?

When school was finally over, I made an effort to get outside before Alex came out. As she walked out, I called to her. "Hey, Alex! How are you?" I asked. When she turned towards me, she made a funny looking face. Was she upset? "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, Jack, I'm fine. Do you need something?" She asked. She smiled at me, but it didn't seem real.

"You disappeared yesterday, and we thought that you may have been captured. We were worried about you." I said. She glanced down at her watch.

"Yeah, I wasn't feeling well. I went home early. Then when I was feeling well I went to the park for a little. Sorry if I missed your texts." She said. I hadn't texted her. I guess she just wanted to be alone for a while. "Anyway, I have somewhere to be so, bye." She said abruptly. Then she turned and walked away. Just then, Arcee drove up with her holoform on.

"Well that was awkward. Whats her problem?" Arcee asked.

"Don't know, but I wanna find out. Lets follow her." I said hopping onto the now vacant Arcee. Slowly, we followed Alex until she turned down an alleyway. "Why would she go down there?" I asked to no one in particular. I hopped off of Arcee and peeked around the corner. Alex was texting someone on her phone. When she finished, and to my surprise, a groundbridge opened. Alex glanced behind her, then walked through and the bridge closed. "I don't understand. How did Alex open a groundbridge?" I asked Arcee.

"She didn't. Alex is riding with the cons."
