A Step Closer

As the day passed, Jia really enjoyed the college vibes, the new friendship and an unsaid bond between her and her three friends Sajal, Avni and Naina. They made a whatsapp group named Squad too. They chat a lot in a very short span they become so close and they became each other's home whom they can share anything and everything.

Sajal, a confident and headstrong girl who knows her goals and is equally funny and joyful; Jia and Sajal's bond was quite unique because sajal's bluntly speaking personality on everyone face made everyone judge her but that was the most beautiful part which made her different and which Jia admired, also she was very good when it comes to studies.

Naina, a bubbly and cheerful girl who shared a sister bond with Jia, and her famous crushes stories have been their favorite topic to tease Naina. The kind of crushes she had and the regret she had for each one of them was quite insane. Currently after having crush on one of her batchmate Satyam she had now a crush on one of the senior from same cource but from first shift whose name was Sivesh (she got to know from instagram)

Avni, a very quite yet mischievous girl who spoke very less but was very mischievous only they four knew, Jia and avni too shared a special bond as they both were into editing videos and reading fictions.

Jia couldn’t believe she had done it she had actually signed up for AdSpark(she barely knew about it). She hadn’t planned on joining any societies, but after finding out that Vedant was a member, she registered without hesitation. After finding Vedant’s name Jia searched his profile on AdSpark's followers list and there, she found his id with no bio and 254 followers and 258 following, she immediately sent him the request , how foolish of her, she thought but then shrugged it off. Sajal, of course, had already signed up for AdSpark before all of this happened, but for Jia, it was all about being close to him, to maybe catch a glimpse of his life outside the classroom.

The induction day couldn’t come fast enough. Jia had been looking forward to it for days, her mind filled with thoughts of Vedant. What would he be like during the induction? Would she get a chance to talk to him? These questions had kept her awake the night before, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and nervousness.

By 2:40 PM, she was already in the session room, even though the induction wasn’t supposed to start until 3. The room was filling up quickly, but as she scanned the crowd, her heart sank Vedant wasn’t there. Neither was Sajal as she was having an extra class. Jia sighed, feeling a wave of disappointment wash over her. She had been so excited, but now she felt alone in the bustling room. She checked her instagram account but he had not accepted her request yet and her mood sulked. But to her surprise this didn't last longer as she saw Vedant entering into the room with a black bag on his shoulder and an ipad in his hand. Jia couldn’t help just blushed seeing him there and her heart dropped to her stomach as she saw him. She noticed he put his bag on front bench, she usually dont like to sit in the front but just for a change she wanted to observe him closely so she moved to second bench, she watched his every action as he moved inside the classroom but her happiness couldn’t last long as he left the classroom with his bag and ipad in a hurry. She was back to her sad mood.

She then spotted Shanaya, one of her classmates, and decided to say hi. “Hey, Shanaya!” Jia greeted her with a warm smile.

But Shanaya just gave her a quick glance and walked away without a word. Jia felt a sting of hurt, her smile fading. “Maybe she’s just having a bad day,” Jia muttered to herself, trying to brush it off.

Determined not to let it ruin her mood, Jia looked around for someone else to talk to. She saw a girl sitting alone and decided to approach her. “Hi, I’m Jia,” she said, offering a friendly smile.

The girl looked up and smiled back. “Hey, I’m Sanya. You’re here for the AdSpark induction too?”

“Yeah! I’m really excited. How are your classes going?” Jia asked, relieved to find someone willing to chat.
