The Hedgehog of Arc

Chapter 4

Ozpin sat in his office, with Goodwitch, Oobleck and Port, having a quick meeting about the upcoming quarter. It had been a trying time, as Jaune Arc was now gone. The news was hard for him to tell his family. Their reactions were very expected.

Nicholas was sulking, wishing he could go back and train Jaune like he promised him. But, he had lost so much family to this life, he didn't want Jaune to fall like them. He just never expected this all to happen.

Janice kept crying herself to sleep every night since then, saying she was a terrible mother.

The sisters were often upset, taking their youngest brother for granted, but now, he was gone. Forever.

Ozpin did blame himself, as he drowned his sorrow into his work. He promised to never let anyone fall to the Grimm like this again, but someone did. The first being Hazel Gretchen due to his sister dying and him joining Salem.

Goodwitch was much more strict on her students, mainly the ones who believed Jaune didn't belong here, and trash talked him.

Oobleck and Port each continued, but deep down, they were mourning for Jaune.

"So, this is what's it's like after hours."

Everyone jumped at the voice, and turned to see a blue bipedal hedgehog.

"Hello there," said Ozpin, in his normal calm tone.

Goodwitch stood, ready to attack in case, as Sonic stepped down, saying, "Nice to see this place hasn't changed a bit."

"What do you mean?" asked Goodwitch, "Have you been here before? And, what are you?"

"I'm a hedgehog, I feel like that's obvious."

"Why are you here, young one?"

Sonic turned to Ozpin, saying, "Well, there is something I wanted to tell you. Ozpin, you can tell people from their soul, right?"

Ozpin did, and said, "Yes I can."

"Well then," said Sonic, "Fire away."

Ozpin put a hand on Sonic's chest, and closed his eyes. In what felt like 2 minutes, Ozpin opened his eyes, in shock as to what he had just witnessed.

"Well, now you know," said Sonic.

"Ozpin, are you-"

"Mr. Arc?"

Sonic nodded, "Yep. Right here, right now, reborn as Sonic, the Hedgehog!"

Goodwitch looked at Sonic, and then at Ozpin, as Oz said, "Soul Memories never lie Glynda. This is, Jaune Arc."

"Yeah," said Sonic, "and, just wanna say, I was told about you, Ozma. Just before I arrived at Beacon."

Ozpin stood up, looking at Sonic, as Oobleck asked, "Mr. Arc, ho-"

"Please, call me Sonic Dr."

Oobleck fell from his chair. Sonic had appeared right next to him in a flash, taking him and Port by surprise.

"Mr. A- Sonic," said Port, "How did you do that?"

"Well," said Sonic, "Basically, I'm the fastest thing alive!"

"How fast can you go?" asked Goodwitch.

"Fast enough to break the sound barrier."

"Impossible," said Oobleck.

Sonic then ran around the office, picking up papers, pens, and other things before multiple Sonic went about, in various costumes and doing some things like cleaning, paper work, and arguing with each other.

Soon, Sonic stopped, and stood before them all, as he said, "Does that make you believe me?"

"You can go so fast, you leave after images of yourself?" asked Oobleck.

"Meaning, I can be in two places at once, yes, I can."

"How did you gain such a semblance?" asked Port.

"It's not a semblance," said Sonic, "I've been this fast since I was 7. As a Hedgehog, not human."

"But, how-"

Ozpin was tossed a device, as he said, "I'll be in touch. Just know, we will be dealing with Grimm and other things."

Sonic then took off, and the four looked out to see a blue blur rushing about the Kingdom.

"Sir," said Goodwitch, "Are you sure we should TRUST this.... Hedgehog?"

"Glynda," said Ozpin, "I saw Mr. Arc's history down to the perfect thing. No way it's a coincide."

"What has he done so far?" asked Port.

Ozpin then proceeded to tell the trio about Sonic's adventures, and were taken back.

Sonic stopped at the top of a building, looking down, seeing all sorts of people just going about their day. However, the Faunus had not gotten any better.

"So much for the optimism," said Sonic.

He then took off, back to the ship.
