Lily and Kev crouched low, their eyes trained on the advancing forces from their concealed vantage points. The early morning light cast long shadows across the landscape, but it did little to hide the sheer numbers marching openly toward Haven. Li Yue had sent everything she had—an army bent on annihilation, their footsteps thundering in unison as they crossed the bridge and funneled down the two main roads.

Kev's hand tightened around the detonator, his eyes flicking to Lily across the way. She nodded once, her expression hardened and resolute. They had planned for this, every step meticulously calculated. All that was left was to execute.

They waited patiently like steel until the mass of Li's forces had nearly crossed the bridge. The weight of their presence was overwhelming, a tidal wave of impending destruction. But this was exactly what Lily had wanted—she needed them all in one place, where the devastation could be maximized.

Lily gave a small signal, and Kev's thumb pressed down. The explosion was immediate, the bridge erupting in a cascade of fire and twisted metal. Screams filled the air as the ground gave way beneath Li Yue's forces, sending them plunging into the depths below. The once-solid bridge crumbled into the water, taking countless soldiers with it. The chaos was instantaneous, panic rippling through the ranks.

But Lily wasn't done.

As the two other factions marched down the roads between the abandoned buildings, Kev and Lily waited for the perfect moment. Their eyes were locked on the biggest groups, the heart of the masses. When the timing was right, Kev hit the second detonator. Explosions ripped through the streets, the buildings collapsing inward in a storm of debris and fire. The blasts tore through the ranks, obliterating what had once been a massive force.

The few who survived the explosions scattered in every direction, their retreat filled with desperation. They ran from the chaos, their shouts echoing in the aftermath of the destruction.

From Haven, celebration erupted. Cheers rose into the air, a cry of victory that echoed across the landscape. After so long under the dark reign of New Alton, the people of Haven finally had something to rejoice about. They had survived, and Li Yue's empire lay in ruins.

But the jubilation was short-lived. Amid the cheers, one scream cut through the air, blood-curdling and filled with terror.

"They've taken her! They have Sylvia!"

The words froze Lily's heart. The name pierced through the fog of victory like a knife, and in that instant, everything changed. The Ghost of Haven felt the rage boiling inside her—this wasn't over. Lily sprinted through the chaos, her heart pounding with each step. The celebration had faded into a distant hum as she reached the small crowd that had gathered around Sylvia's mother. The woman was on her knees, sobbing uncontrollably, her hands clawing at the ground in despair. The sight of her broken form, the desperate wails that tore through the air, made Lily's breath catch in her throat.

Lily knelt beside her, grabbing her shoulders. "What happened? Who took her?"

Through her tears, Sylvia's mother choked out the words. "The Chaos Clan... they came in the confusion... they—they took her! My little girl... they said she favored you too much... that they needed her... to finish what they started."

Lily's mind spiraled, the weight of the words crushing her. The Chaos Clan—the same twisted lunatics who had taken everything from her—had stolen Sylvia. And for what? A need to reclaim their lost power?

The world around her blurred. The celebration, the cheers of victory—all of it vanished. All that remained was the searing pain and anger that surged through her. Her vision darkened, memories of the past flashing before her eyes—her mother's screams, that dark street with only one streetlight, the pain. The Chaos Clan had destroyed her life once before, and now they had dared to touch this innocent girl who looked so much like her younger self.

Lily's hands trembled, but not from fear. This was rage, raw and unfiltered. They should've been wiped out when she had the chance, not left as remnants to fester. She should've finished them all—every last one of those psychopaths.

She stood up slowly, her voice cold and deadly. "I won't make that mistake again."

Kev appeared beside her, concern etched on his face. "Lily...?"

"They're all going to fall," she said, her voice like steel. "Every single one of them. No more mercy, no more leaving survivors. They're done."

Without another word, Lily turned and began walking toward the outskirts of Haven, her movements deliberate and resolute. The hunt was on. The Chaos Clan had made their final mistake, and this time, she would make sure there were no survivors.

Lily moved through the ruins of Cinderville with lethal precision. Each step was calculated, her senses heightened, her mind focused on one thing: finding the last remnants of the Chaos Clan and making them pay.

The streets were eerily silent, a stark contrast to the chaos and destruction that had erupted earlier. Lily's heart pounded in her chest, not from fear but from the cold, burning rage that fueled her every movement. She had no time to dwell on what could have been, on the mistake of leaving them alive. She had to focus, had to find them before they could hurt Sylvia.

She tracked the first member to a dilapidated warehouse on the edge of town, a place where the gang had once held court. The building was barely standing, the roof caving in, and the windows shattered. Inside, the air was thick with dust and the stench of decay.

Lily moved silently, her knife in hand, as she crept through the shadows. The Chaos Clan member, a scarred and wild-eyed man, sat huddled in a corner, muttering to himself. He didn't even see her coming. The blade slid effortlessly between his ribs, and his eyes widened in shock before the life drained out of him.

One down.

Lily wiped the blood from her blade and moved on. The next few were scattered across the city, hiding in the shadows, trying to blend in with the chaos that still lingered. But Lily was relentless. She tracked them down, one by one, and each time she found them, she showed no mercy.

An alleyway. A burnt-out apartment. A crumbling church. Each location became a tomb for the Chaos Clan. The Chaos Clan's dwindling numbers fuel her rage, their taunts reminding her of the night that tore her life apart. Lily's hunt for Sylvia becomes a descent into her own fractured psyche. Each member of the Chaos Clan she tracks down becomes a mirror to her past—a twisted reflection of the horrors she endured. With each kill, she is pulled deeper into the abyss, haunted by memories she thought she had buried. She can no longer distinguish between herself and Sylvia, or between herself and Ava. Every scream, every bloodstain, blurs the lines of reality, until all she sees is a young girl lost in a world of torment—a young girl she must save, at any cost.

As she took down the ninth member, a young woman who had tried to run, Lily caught a whisper of something she hadn't expected. "We... we didn't want to do it... she made us... she told us...," the woman gasped, clutching her bleeding side.

"Who?" Lily demanded, her grip tightening on the woman's shirt.

"Li Yue... she... she said we had to... to give the girl... to the Cultists... it wasn't us... we... we just wanted to live..."

Lily's blood ran cold. She had expected the Chaos Clan to be the masterminds, but Li Yue had played them like pawns. She had orchestrated everything, pulling the strings from behind the scenes, all to get her hands on Sylvia.

The woman let out a final, ragged breath and went still. Lily stared down at her, her mind racing. The Cultists. Li Yue had handed Sylvia over to the Cultists. And that meant something far worse was in store for the little girl.

There were only three Chaos Clan members left, but Lily knew her real target had shifted. The Cultists had Sylvia, and if she didn't move fast, she might be too late to save her from whatever dark ritual they had planned.

Lily's heart hardened. She would deal with the last of the Chaos Clan soon enough, but first, she had to get Sylvia back. And this time, there would be no holding back. Li Yue had gone too far, and now, she would pay the ultimate price.
