"MOM! MOM! CAN YOU READ MIGHTY MAN WITH ME AGAIN? PLEASE?"
A young boy, not older than eight, living in a suburban home was reading one of the latest "Mighty Man Adventures" books along with his mother. He has bright, cerulean eyes. Messy Yellow hair with short tufts protruding above his forehead. Smiles brightly like the warm sun on a chilly, cloudy day. He is just as excited and lively like her, in total bliss from all the chaos outside their door step.
"In most heroic origins that I've read in comics, they often depict them as one who faced such tragedy that transformed them to those glorified behemoths and paragons. Determination coursing through their veins, power leaking waiting to be released, and sometimes trying to save lives with a smile...
... My Origin was none of that, there isn't anything interesting about it. It was too peaceful to be even called an "Origin"...
... Let alone a heroic one."
Cradled into her arms, the boy hugged her so much that she started tickling him.
She laughed wholeheartedly at her son's antics. Always there with a smile on his face.
"I always wanted a role in life. Every single day I wake up, every single decision I take...
... it felt like it mattered."
While reading the book together, both had a meaningful conversation that would change the young boy's life forever.
"Wow... He's so cool! I want to see him fight bad guys and save others!"
"Oh? You want to be like Mighty Man Toshi?"
"Hehehe, yes mom! Even if he's not real, I want to help others like he did for his people. I want to be there for everyone, with a smile! "
"Hmmm... Toshi, what do you want to be when you grow up?
He thought long and hard, until eventually...
"I... want to... be-"

A blond man suddenly wakes up from his dream by his alarm clock, not feeling ready to start the day. He struggled to get up only to face plant himself on the floor from tripping. His name Toshinori Yagi, and he lived a normal life, in a world with Metas, Mutants, and monsters weaving through society. With his body aching to get up, from his years of getting into crazy shenanigans, he fixed himself up by starting the day with freshly brewed coffee, sided with some toast, and proceeded to prepare his monthly job search around the city. Hoping to finally find the one he desire to pursue in.
When he was young, his mother silently passed away due to her worsening illness as a few years went by. Though he felt his heart crushed under the weight of her passing and grief struck him over the furthest depths of his mind, he blessed her knowingly that she lived her life as herself, being a caring and thoughtful mother, and was able to cope that she didn't have to suffer anymore like the Nomus still lurking around the country. A part of him wished she was still here for him but had to accept the reality as he once shed tears of her caring nature and smiles. He reluctantly moved in with his grandparents though they're really nice and understanding of his situation, but all he could think was his mom.
He remembered the times with her, from reading comics to playing Hero to save her. His world was whole and bright, not knowing how dull and empty it would come later in life. He used to want to be like the heroes from the comics, strong and mighty like benevolent gods to strike down evil harming the good. However as he grows up, he realizes that he'd rather be like his mother- showing compassion to everyone, have courage to fight for others, and go beyond giving warm smiles to aspire hope and ignite their dreams. He garnered his own mantra "Plus Ultra" as a nod to her mother's words of wisdom and kindness. And go further beyond he did.
