" I woke up around 6 a.m., just like every other normal day, except Sundays. My routine was always the same- make breakfast for the whole family, handle the household chores, including laundry and dishes. Once everything was done, I’d take a quick shower, and by the time I was ready, my stepmom and sister would finally be up. They’d have their breakfast while I got dressed for high school. I always left home by 10 a.m.

After school, I’d head straight to my job at the café, taking orders and serving customers. I’d get off work by 7 p.m., but my day didn’t end there. Right after, I’d go to the grocery store to work as the cashier until 11 p.m. By the time I got home, I’d already had dinner. Then... "

I hesitated. Why was I sharing all of this? Maybe to make him drop this ridiculous idea.

“…my stepmom takes all the money I make,” I finished with a sigh. “Then, I head straight to my room to study before bed. That’s my day.”

I looked up at him, shrugging slightly. He stood there, speechless, clearly taken aback by everything I’d just said. I secretly hoped he’d abandon the whole plan of switching places, but then, finally, he spoke.

“You…” he sighed heavily. “You do all that, and at the end…”

He stopped himself, probably holding back the truth. I nodded, and we both walked silently to his car. There was no turning back now, no other option for us.

He parked near his house and turned to me, handing me his phone.

“Y/N, be careful,” he said seriously. “Don’t talk too much. Just... try to act like me.”

I gave him a sharp glare.

“What do you mean? It’s not like I’ve done a PhD on your behavior!” I shot back.

He rolled his eyes. “Just don’t let anyone know who you are, alright? And don’t go snooping through my personal chats or anything.”

He thrust his phone into my hand. I gave him mine phone because there's nothing to hide in there. I nodded, suppressing a small smirk.

“Of course, I don’t want to see all the girls and whatever else is in your messages,” I teased. “Or, God forbid, your nud-"

“Alright, you’re already talking too much. It’s late. Go!” he cut me off, shooing me out of the car.

I sighed, stepping out. Looking up at his house, I felt my stomach knot.

It was massive.

Why me, God?

And just like that, he was gone.

I stood there like a child waiting for her child in school to pick her up.

Taking a deep breath I hold myself together stepping into his house, I was welcomed by her mother at main gate.

But what happened next left me utterly speechless- she hugged me.

Me?

Of course, she thought I was him. It had been so long since I'd felt such love and affection directed towards me, and for a moment, I allowed myself to enjoy her embrace. She held me tightly, then pulled away with a worried look on her face.

"Why didn’t you pick up the phone? I was so worried!" she exclaimed, her voice full of concern.

I stared at her, stunned, not knowing how to respond. She cupped my cheeks in her hands, searching my face.

"Jimin? Are you okay, my son?"

Her eyes pierced right through me, and I struggled with how to tell her the truth- that I wasn’t her son. Instead, I nodded, trying to replicate how Jimin might smile, and said,
