!!!!Super short chapter!!!!!!
I wrapped my arms around Damien's neck, embracing his body into mine, it was as if nothing else matters with just the two of us in our own perfect world. After a few more seconds I break apart the electrifying moment to stare into his warm brown eyes, practically melting at Damiens loving gaze. I carefully retract my hands from around his neck, smiling softly at the downturn of his lips at my unexpected movement.
Suddenly, the slamming of a door echoes through the kitchen, causing me to quickly pull my hands away from Damien and whip my head around at the unexpected visitor. "Don't let me stop me." smirks Marcus, puling his denim jacket off his shoulders before chucking it to the side.
A hot blush travels up my neck after Marcus leaves the room, the embarrassment of everything finally setting in. I glance up at Damien and frown at the expression plastered across his face, its a look of grim determination and what seems to be acceptance.
As he beckons me forward with his finger, I confusedly step into his embrace yet again. "We should leave this place," I state, keeping my eyes planted on the floor in fear Damien would be in rejection of this idea, "Y/n, theres something I need to tell you before that." says Damien, his tone betraying any traces of comfort and love, instead replaced with an indifferent look that only serves to increase my confusion and worry.
"If its about Tiffany, I understand if theres no time to rescue her but surely you can figure something out if you explain to the officers that your innocent." 'a steely look passes over Damiens face as he adopts a stone cold tone of voice'.
"Its not that simple, your friend may be past saving at this point y/n, I don't have as much control as you think I do. Truth be told, Marcus has got enough power to order the authorities to kill your friend, which is why its too dangerous to attempt a rescue mission when we just barely escaped in the first place." says Damien, genuine care seeping into his voice and offering a small amount of comfort against the indescribably feeling engulfing you, with anger and regret clashing together in your mind.
-A FEW WEEKS LATER-
After leaving Marcus's house, Damien went MIA and took on an undercover identity, I on the other hand managed to completely hide the fact that I ever existed, with the help of Damiens tech skills of course. It was a challenging task seeing as any possible chance of being recognised could lead to imprisonment or even death. The chance of Tiffany still being alive and rotting in prison plaugued my thoughts constantly, but with Damiens help, I eventually forgot about her, with the occasional flash of guilt crossing my mind before I remembered to remind myself that I had so much to live for, and with Damien in my life, there was no point in dwelling on the past.
(Sorry if the ending was really rushed with not much of a storyline but I don't have much motivation left to finish this book properly so I might in the future but for now I'll probably work on another book lollll.🫤🫤🥰🫶👹👹)
