It shouldn't have been possible.
By the grace and the wrath of Rök, it happened regardless.
Grace that Ayela could see Rhaja once again before she faded into the memories of her revered god.
Wrath that this absolute traitor of a reman had used the spectral form of her dead lover for her own gain.
And how did that wrath manifest?
By Ayela's power...
The ground shook with vengeful violence, and it was indeed a terrifying sight to behold. She saw the fear in Tallie's eyes, but at this point, she longed for it. She longed for the dark witch to fear the wrath and power of a divine logician that was scorned. Ayela's fists were clenched, but she didn't need to expend any muscles or physical energy to control the reality around her. No, it was her utter rage that fueled her power this time. This went beyond the pools of energy reserved deep within her consciousness.
Tallie tried in futility to empty her gun's magazine into Ayela, but the bullets just dissolved once they were close enough. Terrified, she turned and ran away, but Ayela knew that deep in Tallie's heart, she realized that the end of her terrible reign was here. Ayela was going to exact the harshest of revenge.
Power emulated from around her so intensely, waves of heat radiated from all around her. Her crimson hair seemed to glow, as well as her violet eyes. Her skin seemed more radiant than anyone could have ever hoped, and in defiance of all scientific knowledge, she slowly started to levitate off the ground.
Rather than fall from her face, her tears simply floated out of her eyes as she started to cry. The anger and sadness blended together seamlessly, but in that moment, it seemed as though Rök saw her pain and compassionately amplified her power.
In a moment of emotional overload, she reared her head back with a scream that was as wrathful as it was pained, and the energy she emulated exploded from all around her, frying the room she was in and evaporating the windows. She could hear everything around her with enhanced senses, and she could see colors she never thought possible.
Then she heard her voice coming from outside, ordering soldiers to evacuate the civilians.
Good.
It would just be her and Tallie, then. She drifted to the window and passed through the walls, as though they were mere holograms, and lifted herself higher into the sky. All around her body, physics seemed to obey laws that remans hadn't discovered. Her hair seemed to float as though she were suspended underwater. Light bent in ways that didn't seem like they should, creating a warped image of reality around her that made her appear like a demigoddess.
She could see Tallie fall to her knees and begin to pray, but it would not save her. Ayela shrieked again with such volume, all the citizens and soldiers around them covered their ears and fell to the ground. Grey storm clouds started to appear in the skies above, and lightning started to strike at random places.
There would be war.
There would be death.
The Towlålites would meet their end once and for all on that day.
"AYELA!!!" Yelled an unexpected voice. Her attention was diverted towards Kamille and Karinth standing nervously off on the other side of the road, and suddenly the sadness in her heart began to overtake her.
There stood her only two friends...
...And they saw her at her absolute worst.
