Where I Go To Die

Blackbirds perch within my heart,
Wings pound, a burden to start.
Adrenaline pulsates; bloating veins
Carry the weight of sempiternal pain.

Insects burrow beneath my skin,
Singing their sentiment, and their sin.
Goosebumps rise carnal red;
Entering the state of innard dead.

Placid tears evaporate,
Dolor becoming naught-
Vehemence begins to dominate
What has been forgot.

Your scrutiny kindles the flame
Of my uncanny dire soul-
Rectifying the dame
Who capers in the coal.

Swans doze within my chest,
Breathing softly, finally at rest.
Flesh silken; sterilized from hate
My saturnine roots germinate.

Verdure creeps through my rind,
Patulous green, magnanimous vines.
Insatiable demise long forgotten,
My heart no longer rotten.
