Blue eyes showed fear as a male was thrown into a cell. A shallow noise escaped them as they curled into a ball.
~
"This isn't working."
"Of course it's not."
Three Pokemon rested in a room as muffled noises escaped the door. A Doduo sighed as a Piplup looked at it.
"We need a plan."
"Yeah, but what?" The third pokemon, a Minun, looked up from his hands.
"I have one." The other two looked at him as it looked down. "It may be a bad plan, but it's better than nothing. We could... have one of us take a Human in and have them join the Old Ruins Association." The Piplup gulped.
"It would go against our policy-"
"I know. But... We would treat them and make them brave to fight back." The Doduo nodded.
"Let's at least try it."
~
The Minun followed a Nidoqueen as they walked through a hall of cells. Many within the cells lashed out, only the cold steel bars holding them back. Minun stayed quiet as she hummed.
"Any particular trait?"
"Uh... quiet would be nice." She hummed before they stopped by a cell.
"Then see about that one." Minun went over and paused, seeing a Human curled up in the corner. They looked scared as they felt eyes on them. Their shaking froze as they tried to hide in the corner. The poor thing. Minun gulped.
"This one is perfect."

The Human kept his head down as they entered the home. Minun led him to a small basement area, where his loving mother set up a comfortable living area for him. The Human settled down, keeping his eyes to the ground as the Pokemon went up to his mother, who was in the kitchen. She smiled at him.
"All set?"
"For the most part. He's terrified."
"They normally are if they are new." She quickly got a tray set up. "I'll get him some food. Why don't you get some blankets and whatever you're going to use to mark him?" He nodded as she went downstairs. He grabbed some blankets and his paint kit before going down. The Human was quietly staring at the food, his shaking form steadying from the smell and comfort. His eyes finally lifted as Minun placed the pile down. He moved the paint kit before draping a blanket over the male.
"There. Better?" It took a second, but the Human eventually nodded, cuddling up to the blanket. "Good. You're safe now."
"Really...?" Minun nodded as he went over and patted his head. His eyes drooped as he purred a bit.
"Yep. I'll protect you."

The Human, who's name was Lunick, was skittish. As in, he refused to open up and was very jumpy. So it was sometimes hard. But Minun did everything in his power to convince Lunick that he was safe.
Until he couldn't.
Another Resistance Group attacked him, not knowing he was also a member. Lunick ran over before he was pulled back by a powerful Pokemon.
"Don't get closer."
"But-" Tears ran down his face as Pokemon Officers blocked off the scene, others looking for the attacker. "But-"
"We'll take it from here." The Pokemon then called out to someone, trying to get assistance in taking care of the Human. Lunick trembled before soft paws rubbed his back.
